Fantastic, historic pub with open fires and the usual great selection of beers from Sam Smith's. Friendly service. I like the old fashioned rules. It is like an escape from the mad, modern world and encourages me not to waste time on my phone. I usually take a book if I'm on my own.

I guess not for everybody, due to the brewery's rules but we found it quite refreshing to have no mobile devices allowed, no swearing and no children. It encourages people to actually speak to one another. We had a great chat with people we had never met before going in to the pub. It was a throw back to how pubs used to be. £3 a pint for cask ale and £2:20 on tap, lager £3 to boot. Would definitely be back next time we are in Chester. Very friendly young couple in charge

Excellent Old Brewery Bitter and a nice conversational atmosphere. The rules are clear enough- no one is forcing you to come here if you can’t keep your phone in your pocket for half an hour.

Open again after almost 4 years! There is a really nice relaxed atmosphere to the pub. The young couple running the Falcon are really friendly and chatty. Beware the brewery rules - no mobile phones and no swearing. Maybe that is why there is such a good ambiuence?

Fantastic pub with excellent code of conduct.
No phones, swearing, kids or dogs. Absolute winner. Wish my local had the same agenda.

A well run Samuel Smith's pub. Friendly staff, great beer with roaring fires in the winter. The Falcon doesn't serve food. Being a Samuel Smith's pub they have rules :- no mobiles devices, no swearing, no children and no dogs.

A Sam Smiths bar in a lovely old building. Loads of character and charm and a nice pint of cask ale.

This place is very nice. Local people come around because they have cheap, good quality beers (no big mainstream beers there). I didn't feel like a stranger there it feels like a very welcoming place. There is no mobile phones policy in there which encourages to strike a conversation with anyone. It's a place to go to even if you're just a tourist. It's a historical place with a soul.

What a lovely traditional old English pub in Chester. Wow... this place offers character, atmosphere and lovely local craft beer. A very welcoming atmosphere in the middle of Chester. We popped in for 2 local beers and a few cokes for the kids. All came to approx. £7 only! Highly recommended for a visit don't miss out on this hidden Gem for an old pub experience. The landlady was very informative and helpful. Local beer was one of the nicest beers I've ever tasted! They have a "No Swearing Policy" which I found comical but good!

So cheap it's insane but because its their own branded alcohol. So don't go in if you want a usual high street brand. That said, the beer is good. Very basic pub but also comfortable and cozy. Shame they stopped allowing dogs in. If you like here, also try the boot Inn.

These amazing people are serving the best beers in UK in the oldest pub in Chester. When we visiting Chester we are always going there for chocolate stout. The taste is just perfect. People are welcoming and friendly.

Lovely pub plenty of history, log fire in the Winter months. Polite and friendly Staff, Rebecca was working... polite, friendly and very professional. My friend spilt a bit of his pint on the floor. We wanted to clear it up. She explained that with Health & Safety regs. She needed to do it. We'd go again soon Thanks Rebecca... Suzie-Mold
