Charnallies Restaurant & Bar

We had the weekend breakfast platter a few times now and handsdown this is one of the best breakfast in town!
It’s very reasonable and super tasty and you can order as many additional things as you like throughout. Even for plant-based customers this is a great option!
The staff are always super helpful and friendly too. They really look after you. We were served by Naomi a couple of times and had superb service.
We’ve also been in the afternoon for 2-for-1 cocktails and that was also great.

We had an amazing family meal here. All staff were polite, friendly and attentive. Checking in with us to ensure we had everything we needed and made changes to suit our preferences. The food was wonderful. Absolutely no complaints. Freshly cooked to order. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Will definitely go back in the future.

Nice place dog friendly outside, We where served by Sophie, she was great with the kids and very helpful and kind. The other sever was very nice too and great with the dog.
Food was great too, good day time deals.

Really reasonable pricing at £6 for an all you can eat brunch. Nice thick bacon! Food was exceptional considering the low cost.

Staff went above and beyond they were fantastic. Really friendly and helpful.

My only little moan is I don't think the raised platter for the food is the best idea as I did knock this off and make a mess, however the staff cleaned it all up and brought more food immediately.

We were in clacton for the week and popped down to the pier . We saw the restaurant on way down ( right near pier) and decided to treat ourselves. The waitress Amie was so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The food was absolutely amazing very tasty, well presented and was reasonably priced . Will definitely go back when we in area again .

We came in on Sunday and had a fantastic meal. We use the restaurant regularly but have never left a review.This meal was outstanding so deserves the credit! We were so impressed with the food. My husband had the triple stacker burger, which arrived piping hot( as did all the meals), the burger was steaming hot the whole way through the meal!!!! Very well done to the kitchen! Bbq chicken salad is also worth a go! Very impressed!! Well done We will be back!!

Really nice atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff, swift service, excellent menu choices, delicious food and really good value for money. If I lived nearby I'd probably go every week for breakfast. Genuinely one of the best diners I've been to in the UK. Excellent options for those with dietary requirements too.

Whilst visiting Clacton I tried this restaurant and really enjoyed my meal. The Inferno burger is really good, heat but nothing too bad, and they cooked the burgers perfectly, so often I find restaurants overcook them now. The chips and salad were very good too. And.the homemade coleslaw was one of the best I have had, actually wish there had been more as it was a very small amount. It's a nice setting to eat in, with good music and plenty of tables. And our server Sophie was excellent. Would definitely eat here again.

Wow and wow again. My mum treated me for lunch for my birthday. We chose to try Charnallies as we both had never been before. Also my mum has a plant based diet and the vegan menu online looked great. Well it didn't disappoint. There are soo many places that only offer a vegan option but here there is a full vegan menu, starters, mains and desserts. The welcome we received already made us want to come back again and that was before we were seated. Our waitress was such a delight and made our lunch experience that extra special. The food was cooked in a timely manner, portion sizes were fantastic and tasted delicious. I can honestly say I had a lovely birthday celebrating at Charnallies. We will be back!!!

First time visit (from Suffolk) and was very happy with the experience. Nice and Roomy to sit in. The tables are nicely spaced apart . Very good service. Great to have happy and courteous table service. Very prompt too and food was well presented and tasty. We would definitely come again if in the area.

Charnallies is one of my local restaurants.
I would definitely recommend if visiting clacton on sea. It’s down the amusement road onto Clacton pier.
Staff all welcoming and friendly.
Food is wonderful, I’ve eaten here many times and never had a bad meal.
The breakfast on a Sunday is the best for a fiver for all you can eat.

Came in for lunch with family after a busy day in Clacton. The restaurant has a very ‘Frankie and Bennys’ kinda vibe, but with their own take on American/Italian food, which we liked. I had potato skins and a chicken burger, both of which were absolutely brilliant.
The waitress was very polite and helpful in any adjustments we made for allergens and preferences, and everything was brought out in a timely manner.
Would definitely recommend!

Went here Sunday for the 1st time with visiting friends and sat outside ( I've lived here a few years not sure why I've waited so long to visit) We had a dog with us and was welcomed and was bought a bowl of water without us asking for any. Quick and very friendly service. All meals were excellent, Pizza and 2 pasta meals. Cocktails were a bargain and top notch 👍 Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you

Had a great evening in here. 7 of us, 3 eating, 4 just drinks and absolutely no problem with that. 2 burgers and 1 macaroni cheese, all very nicely presented, lovely flavour, not too long a wait either. The cocktails were lovely - I can highly recommend the After Eight! prices were good. We had a lovely waitress, very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the evening so much that 3 of us booked in for brunch the following day - we had the same waitress which was really nice. The eat all you can brunch at jut £6 per person was great. one platter with 2 of everything and then you can just ask for extra items and they are brought to you. a much better idea than piling plates sky high and ending up with wasted food and it also meant that everything was hot and fresh. I would definitely go back again if I'm in Clacton.

Food was beautiful. The waitress Sophie was so friendly, organised and knew exactly what was needed! Highly recommend this place when going out with children too!

We went to Charnallies recently for my mum's birthday and I honestly can't thank them enough for everything they did. They were so welcoming and helpful. Then when it was time for birthday cake they brought it out and sang happy birthday. The food was amazing and such great prices. I'd also like to say they have a great vegetarian selection. Thank you all at Charnallies, you're all amazing! :)
