We loved our New Year stay at the Red Lion. Our family room was clean and comfortable and a good size with extra bed. Our visit to the bar on the first night was warm and welcoming from both staff and locals who made our stay good fun! Thank you Linda, Big Dave and Billy to name a few. Hope the pipe band flourishes. The food on New Year menu was really tasty a highlight being haggis and blackpudding croquettes but the monkfish and prawn bouillabaisse was fab! Thank you Jamie for a wonderful few days and a great start to 2018!!

This is a lovely place to stay. The staff couldn’t be more helpful. We especially enjoyed raiding the games cupboard. Also it’s dog friendly so ticked all the boxes. Would definitely come back here!

We recently stayed at the Red Lion. It was just by chance we found it. It's a lovely little inn with a great staff and friendly locals. Our room was charming and clean. We had a great time there! The food is great also. I highly recommend it!

13 of us turned up drunk, unannounced, looking for lunch... The look on the gaffer's face made the stop worthwhile... After a little panic on his part, he brought us out 12 fantastic fishs and chipss (and one sandwich for the guy not liking fish). Excellent effort, good food, and great service.

Call ahead if you're a big party, or you'll give the boss an aneurism.

It was a Friday and we were up for a chipper and the Tourist place recommended this and it was fine. Lovely staff etc etc. We were then well placed for our castle visit and onward journey home. Perfect.

Went in for a meal, as we happened to be going past. Lovely, cosy pub with small restaurant. Friendly staff and the food was delicious at a very good price.

Top class bar, 19 of us turned up with a load of unruly kids and they were very happy to let us in. Food and drinks spot on and excellent service.

Stayed there in a family room with an extra bed. Highly recommended. Don't miss the chance for a pint and a chat with locals downstairs.
