The Mallard Tea Shop

We were on our family holiday staying in the village.
We stayed here last summer and had been to Mallard Tearoom.
Had the best ever toasties' home made Victoria sponge & Orange Cake.
Absolutely gorgeous and beautiful ingredients.
Very generous portions and very reasonable prices.
The service was friendly and welcoming from start to visit .
Would definitely recommend.

Whilst visiting the lakes we decided to go for breakfast after seeing some good reviews and those reviews were spot on. The ladies that run this cafe were so welcoming.

We had breakfast sandwiches and my daughter had a toastie. The produce was of excellent quality which really stood out. Has to have been the thickest sausage I have ever had. All was truly delicious 😋

Everyone in here was so lovely. I was accidently brought an additional cheese on toast. I ate it because I am a greedy man but I also tried to pay for it because I am an honest cheese filled man. They wouldn't take my money.

Anywhere that gives a man free cheese on toast gets five stars from me.

Delicious lunch. One of the nicest toasties I've had in a long time, with proper thick cut ham. Friendly service and a great selection of cakes to finish. Dog friendly too.

Lovely little tea shop in Cartmel. Friendly staff, nice food with a good selection.

This place is fab. Been twice now. Great sausage sandwich and very tasty cake. Lovely staff. Good quality ingredients and a very fair price. Highly recommend

Lovely small cafe in Cartmel, the four of us enjoyed baked potatoes and toasties, home made cakes and hot drinks, all cheerfully served.
Good quality and value, we would recommend a visit.

Great find. Lovely friendly tearoom, with extensive menu. Cheese and onion toastie was delicious - tasted great and came with fresh salad and coleslaw. Would happily return and recommend.

Very clean. Good selection of breakfast menu and light lunches and cakes. Good choice of teas, coffees and soft drinks. Service can be slow when busy. Children and dog friendly

Loved it, food excellent, service first class

Called in for a cup of tea. The wife was looking at the cakes wishing to she could have a piece of one of them and explained she had a gluten free diet.
Not a problem as the Lemon Meringue amongst others were gluten free.
Nice to find a tea shop which had more than one gluten free options.
Lovely tea shop staff are very helpful and very reasonably priced.

Soup of the day, chicken and veg and bread roll was on die for.
Luxury hot chocolate 😂

Sat outside in the sunshine with my family and two dogs. Wonderful home cooked food and beautifully presented. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Cartmel and called in here for a coffee as it was raining. Homemade cakes, which were moist and very tasty. Homemade scones and a lovely place to sit and watch the time go by. Staff friendly and helpful so a big thumbs up from us all.

Just popped in here for a snack lunch. Beautifully clean cafe with a lovely atmosphere. Bacon in a bun was to die for but sandwiches and jackets etc that were coming out of kitchen looked very moreish! Lovely staff. 5star.

Fresh clean decor is the first impression as you enter. The experience continues with excellent drinks and cakes. We must return sometime to try a lunchtime bite.

Wide range of hot and cold drinks, with food for every occasion. I had Hot crumpets and a chocolate milkshake. Nice and cozy atmosphere along with friendly staff. Definitely will be coming back in the future.
