I personally love IKEA,
and in my opinion, Ikea Gateshead is just perfect for families with small children.

The playground outside and the free crèche (60 minutes) are fantastic for keeping kids entertained.

Additionally, the kids' meals are very affordable, ranging from £0.99 to £1.50, and include a drink and a piece of fruit. The restaurant also has a little play area for small kids, making it a very family-friendly experience

The shop was clean and tidy, easy to move around and not too busy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a coffee and danish in the café. It was very well stocked and we got everything we needed in the store.

Restaurant review - meatballs were delicious, shame we couldn't get the mash and lingonberry jam though. But the chips instead were really tasty. Great layout of restaurant, with lots of good seating options. Nice selection of puddings. Service was a little slow. Overall definitely 5/5, as the food was so good for the price!

I took my elderly Mum here to choose some furniture for her lounge. Prices and quality of their goods are amazing. It did take us 6 hours to get from the entrance to the exit but that was due to my Mum wanting to look at everything she passed. Thankfully their restaurant is approximately half way around to have a sit down and some food. There's plenty of staff at hand to give advice too.

Great shop, very big, plenty of choices. Also nicely built showrooms show how your room could look with ikea items in it rather than just the items.

Love this store. Its so big and set out brilliantly. Spacious to get around. Lovely food served in the cafe. Great quality products. Ingenious gems you never knew you even needed. Right on the side to the Metro Center plenty of spaces to park. Friendly service. Travel routes and buses are easy to use.

love IKEA, and this one is particularly good. nice restaurant with yummy food including good vegan options, although I find it weird that it's half way through the shop, unlike the Nottingham branch where it's at the entrance. I also like that it's mostly on one floor, don't have to enter via massive creepy lifts like the Coventry branch. nice and clean, stylish displays, reasonably priced products, over all great experience. makes for a fun day out.

Such a great shop, they do some lovely furniture and electronics. They do offer shortcuts which might be best for people with mobility issues who don't want to walk around the whole store. They have a restaurant, bistro (which sells Ice Cream and Hot Dogs at the end of the store) and they have a Swedish Food Store inside the same IKEA store! Also outside is a big children playground, great for children.

Always a helpful bunch of staff. The kids crèche is a god-send and the staff are wonderful. We used the free wardrobe modelling service which was very useful indeed!

I can not fault the team at IKEA Gateshead, I took my mam for a look around & some lunch. We have not been for years & loved all of the displays.
We went for lunch, I had the flatbread pizza & mam had the meatballs both of which were delicious, however my mam took poorly during lunch. Almost immediately Kieran the first aider was brought to us by a lovely team member who was near by, soon after Kirsty the duty manager arrived. They took excellent care of us & did not leave us until my mam was fine to leave.
She had overheated, they brought ice packs to cool her & gave her the best care possible.
I can thank them enough for the special care & attention they gave to us throughout!

It's like visiting a small town with lots of shops - about the same size too! Easy to get lost.
An astonishing range of quality housewares with prices ranging from under £1 to £'000s
A great day out and sn enriching, rewarding destination experience.

This IKEA is really big and a lot of people do just visit to have a look around and enjoy the cafe lol. The show rooms are always kept fresh and they do rotate items regularly.

Very happy with my purchase which was a large woven rug which bought the living room together in a cohesive way.

You can get a lot of good inspiration here on interior design etc but some things can be pricey like pillows and other decor items - you can always find a cheaper alternative in other places. For example the Range, B&M and WAYFAIR online all had cheaper pillows which were of similar sizes which did the job just fine, so it’s always a good idea to shop around.

Visited today looking for wardrobes. I needed some assistance with sizes and accessories and had the good fortune to get help from Rebecca who was only too pleased to assist me. She was very professional and friendly and helped me no end. Thanks to Rebecca I had a really nice customer experience.

As usual wonderful stuff, good food and Easter egg hunt and other activities. There are some changes in the store and it looks nice for half term school holidays. The balloon man at the entrance will make a giraffe or lion or other 2. My daughter loved it.

Love Ikea. Lovely slow wander around taking in all of the great ideas then a nice cuppa with lunch or cake to chill and people watch for a while....plus pick up some bargains while I'm there...

Probably the only and nearest IKEA for the northeast. Well stocked and the store with not an extraordinary customer service here. Especially if you're at the customer service counter you'll find some rude ladies there, just ignore them and get your shopping done. I love their restaurant though.

A huge range of items. Quality and choice of options are good.
Stopped for the obligatory hot dog on the way out, it seemed smaller than I remember but for 85p there were no complaints.

Massive !! Its not shopping its a day out.... huge choice of everything at fairly good prices. Impressive story layout and displays. Sadly the cafe was rammed so couldn't sample the hot dogs or meatballs
