Birchtree Cattery

I wanted to leave a review because I want other owners to know how well treated your cat will be at birchtree. They were absolutely phenomenal with my cat Bailey, he stayed with them for two weeks and was comfortable, confident and well loved the whole time. Peace of mind for me and my husband while we were away, we just picked him up and he was so very happy I could tell they treated him very well ♥♥ I can’t thank you guys enough for all the love you gave to Bailey! He will be coming back for sure! 100% recommend this Cat Hotel, the best!

Our cat Nala stayed at Birchtree for 10 days while we were away. She was wonderfully looked after and having the balcony space was a massive pro for us. Updates were sent on how she was doing and pictures posted so we could see her. Would definitely recommend and use again! Thank you to the lasses who took such good care of her!

At just under 2 years old this was Ziggy’s first time staying in a Cattery. Leaving him for one week we were a little worried as to how he would cope. It was clear when we picked him up that he had been absolutely fine and well looked after. We love the fact that pictures of all the residents are regularly posted on to Facebook. Birchtree is definitely a special place and we will have no hesitation in booking Ziggy in for future stays. Thank you to all the team for caring and looking after him.

The only place we would send our cat to board. The staff are so thoughtful and caring for the cats. Sometimes we think she has a better holiday than us!

Had my furbaby here for his first ever cattery stay. I was very nervous and the staff did amazing at sending me photos and videos, and answering all my questions and reassuring me. They followed all the instructions / advice that I gave them. They showed him so much love, to the point where he didn’t want to leave them😂 he was very annoyed on the ride home that he was coming back home😂. The rooms were lovely, especially his room, and he seemed to enjoy his room and its facilities. Will definitely be using them again

We have just picked our cat up from Birchtree and can't thank the staff enough. I'm an anxious cat mam and this is the first time he's been away, but he seems really well. More than happy to give 5 stars!

This was the first time leaving our cat in a cattery, and we were so worried he wouldn’t settle/wouldn’t be taken care of but I can happily say he was so well cared for. We received regular updates through pictures on Facebook and when we reached out privately to them we got additional pictures and videos to reassure us that he was doing well. The whole team seems to love animals and the £12 per night fee is inclusive of everything your cat would need and is a bargain for such a lovely, well maintained and friendly cattery. (I have never left a google review before, but I was so impressed with the care given to both our cat and of us as anxious owners that I had to post something!)

Maggie loved her stay here would definitely use here again she was well looked after she didn’t want to leave. Be definitely using this place again

Amazing Cattery/Cat hotel
I was very anxious leaving my cats as we never have and I can't recommend birchtree cattery enough! Since our first Visit last September my cats have stayed a few times and we will continue to use birchtree in the future.
My mind is at rest knowing if we ever go away that they have a home away from home to stay in,which they are looked after to a very high standard!

Took my kittens in for 2 weeks for the first time, I have never left my cats alone so I was really worried but the girls there reassured me that everything would fine and it was. The kittens had a great time and were well looked after, even when my boy had an accident they cleaned them both for us. I got to see my babies every few days on facebook having a great time, made me feel so much better! The ladies are perfect and I will certainly be using them again. Highly recommend to anyone that is worried about leaving their cats alone because i can guarantee your babies will be looked after properly, not to mention how friendly everyone is 🥰

Superb staff & facilities.
I turned up early morning for an unannounced visit/viewing & was shown around the cattery. From my chat with 2 of the staff it is obvious that they adore all the cats.
Totally professional operation with notes on each cats room as to their requirements & idiosyncrasies. I have no doubt that my cat will be in good hands & probably spoilt rotten!
Thank you for putting my mind at rest & I will see you in a few days time.

Xena had her first stay here it was the first time we have ever left her without family and I honestly cannot rate this lovely place enough the ladies are absolutely lovely and so reassuring as I was slightly emotional leaving my little fur baby for the first time. They posted photos for us to see whilst we were away which was so comforting to see :). The cattery it’s self is lovely and clean they provided toys, beds, cat scratches, food and treats. Will 100% be using this for Xena everytime we go away thank you for looking after her so well :)

This is the first time we have used Birchtree Cattery, and we're very impressed. We have 4 cats, 2 cats to a pen. They were looked after, fed their different foods, allowed out to roam and explore the secure space.
We were very pleased when we collected them after 2 weeks away and would recommend this Cattery to cat lovers who want a little bit extra when leaving their cats for any period of time. As the owners we were made very welcome and our cats' needs fully met. Thank you Christine, we will definitely see you again.

This is an excellent family-led Cattery, one of the best, if not the best in the north east. It is spacious, clean and have ample amount of rooms and accommodation for cats and dogs. The staff is friendly, professional and extremely caring and knowledgeable. My cat enjoys going there and has no issues collecting him. They keep you updated with photos on their Facebook group and the pets are triply well cared for. You would think it would be costly, by the price is very much comparable to the surrounding market, however their competitive edge lies within their care and friendliness. Highly recommended

My kitten was well looked after, he seemed very happy and I received updates throughout his stay which I was very grateful for! Will definitely be using the service again.

What can I say except FANTASTIC.
It's clear to see that the staff genuinely love your cat(s).
Marissa looked after our very shy cat & it was clear that after a day or so our cat was settled.
Marissa sent us video's of her playing & mooching around in the play areas. Each cat is given time to "play" outside their room in a secure play area IF THEY WANT & with NO other cat contact, which is great,unless of course you have booked more than 1 cat into this ALL INCLUSIVE CAT HOTEL, then they can play together if they want!
I cannot thank Marissa enough for the care & attention she gave our cat & I know that she & the other members of this Cattery look after every cat as if they were their own.
So to sum up BIRCHTREE CATTERY, TRULY PERFECT FOR YOUR CAT & YOU CAN REST ASSURED YOUR CAT(s) WILL BE LOOKED AFTER PURRRRFECTLY.
Just wanted to point out that as I picked the cat up Marissa made a comment which was rather nice,she said to the cat, not me,"we were just starting to get used to each other & your Dad is taking you back home". Wow that was quite moving.

I contacted Birchtree Cattery for support in an emergency situation, where I had to leave town really quickly for an unknown amount of time as my father was taken ill. Throughout an incredibly stressful time for me, the staff at Birchtree were so helpful, so supportive, flexible with my booking, and went above and beyond to take care of my very anxious little cat. I really can't say a big enough thank you to them. Would 100% recommend their establishment!

Our cat, Loki, has just spent 10 nights at Birchtree Cattery, and has been extremely well looked after. We are so impressed with the facilities, very high standards of hygiene/cleanliness (the facilities are absolutely immaculate), and the care and attention given to all aspects of Loki's stay. He has never stayed in a cattery before, so we were worried about how he would settle, but he's clearly been happy and content. Very highly recommended, and will definitely be using again (we wouldn't think of going anywhere else now, as we're so impressed).

Excellent cattery and obviously very caring owners. My cats have always came out of past kennels unhappy and stressed, but the most sensitive one didn’t want to leave this time! They came home after a 2 week stay and were immediately settled and relaxed. I will be booking again very soon for next year’s trip away. Thanks 🐈‍⬛ 🐈‍⬛

We enjoyed the facebook updates, seeing him made us feel much more comfortable. He was great cared for, was his happy self when back home. For him it was a holiday too. Place is clean, entertainment for cats provided in their private area and in public area. Thank you so much for the good care
