Brilliant and unusual place to visit. I'd never been in a slate mine before, so this was quite the experience. Fascinating to wander around and look at. I would highly recommend it (especially if it's raining). There also a lovely cafe and coverer outside seating area. The cream tea is beautiful! If you in the area and want something different to do then I'd fully recommend this. A big thanks to Carnglaze Caverns for a great afternoon out.

Absolutely stunning place. We had a short visit here as passing through on our 6 hour drive.
It was so beautiful and calming. The staff onsite are fab, the cafe, toilets, shop was perfect. The cavern's were so amazing, the venue looked stunning (a wedding there would be out of this world)
We had a great time but unfortunately didn't get to see the gardens because of the looming long journey ahead but I will definitely visit again if we are that way ever again. Highly recommend and excellent value too 👍🏼

Great little place tucked out of the way so unless you know you wouldn't see it. Full of cool stuff and a step back in time. A great day out with activities for kids whilst in the cavern. Not particularly accessible for those with mobility issues as many steps leading down inside the cavern and also up to the gardens. So ask before you go if you think you might need assistance.

Extraordinary place to visit is definitely worth seeing for yourself, although not a huge area there is plenty going e.g activities for children, live music, cafe and little gift shop. We hadn't booked in advance, but the staff were very helpful and got us in anyway. The cave itself is amazing and on such a grand scale with amazing natural pools and looks to be a great venue for a wedding

Absolutely amazing, went in a family of 4 and for £30 we got to see some amazing caves, wilderness walk and just some amazing woodland scenes and the cafe area was stunning. The staff were also very friendly and nice. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to go while on holiday in Cornwall - Lola

Decent caverns/caves with a really nice concert venue setup. Lovely tea rooms, nice woodland walk and decent amount to do for kids. We were also lucky to have live music on all day for our visit.

We stopped on our way home on a long drive, so didn't stay as long as we would have liked. We only did the cave, which was great. A quick safety briefing and get a hard hat and you are free to wander around the cave.

Good place, great cafe. Really fun, probably a bit better for adults as it’s quite ‘read’ heavy but the gardens there are very fun and they had a slate painting activity and a woodland trail for kids to enjoy. We really enjoyed it and might be back for a music gig at some point :)

What an awesome venue for a concert !
Went to see show of hands here & had a brilliant evening, stayed in the camper in the car park for only £5 & woke up to the birds singing in the trees.
The owners are lovely & the staff super helpful. Five stars from me

This was such a cute and fascinating place to visit. Cheap ticket prices. The caverns were amazing then a little woodland walk covered in celtic folklore. Plenty of piksies, dragons 🐲, fairies 🧚‍♀. Very steep in places with uneven ground however. Nice little gift shop and cafe. Very secluded place. Good parking. Lovely staff. A nice couple of hours distraction with great photo opportunities. Plus you can book out the caverns for a wedding!!

WOW! What an amazing few hours the four of us had here today (aged from 6-46)
So much history! Now a family run business, who are an extremely friendly bunch! So much effort and attention to detail to the outdoor enchanting fairy walk! The gift shop! Outstanding caverns with information to read. An abundance of crystals which were a whole collection so well preserved and showcased. Thank you so much! A definite must see! 🙏🏼 🧚‍♀ 🙏🏼

What a gem of a place! We had a lovely visit on good Friday. The event space and bar are full of character and extremely well done. The mine and pool beautiful. The woodland walk and fairy garden is also a real treat.

We had the loveliest visit to these man-made caverns, mined for their slate. It's a wonderful family-run business, with each family/staff member taking great care of visitors and being super friendly.
We especially loved the underground pools in the caverns and the gift shop with quirky gifts!

There's ample parking, it's a really good rainy day activity in the area, and their woodland trail is beautiful, with a fairy tree you make wishes on and a spot the animals/creatures bingo card.

Would recommend!

Looking for a family friendly attraction, on a raining day, we could not have found a better spot. The ticket prices are fair, the mines are well presented and have great signage with historic facts and stories. The staff are very friendly.

After surfacing from the mine, the cafe was a lovely treat. The cakes were nice and coffee spot on too.

The day before we visited, we spotted the plaque at Looe, highlighting the old rail tracks under the road at Looe, which revived the Copper, Slate and Tin, from the local mines.

Also very interesting to learn the role of Carbglaze Mines during the 1st/2nd world war.

Highly recommend.

This is an extraordinary destination that is truly worth experiencing in person. While the area may not be vast, it offers a wide range of attractions and activities, including children’s entertainment, live music, a charming café, and a delightful gift shop. Although we hadn’t made a reservation in advance, the staff were exceptionally accommodating and managed to fit us in without any issue. The cave itself is breathtaking, showcasing awe-inspiring natural pools and an impressive scale that makes it an ideal location for events such as weddings.

5 stars from us... Visited on a Sunday just under an hour before closing time 4pm...
Very friendly staff, been told about the history of the caverns and the use of it through the time...
Impressive place created by man... All caverns were handmade...
We have been lucky that wasn't that busy ( lucky us ) and we enjoyed the silence of the cave with the water dripping... The lakes were magnificent, crystal clear water...
2 car parks, sitting space outdoors and indoor ( covered, not fully indoors) tea house, snacks, gift shop...
Worth visiting, a small hidden gem in Cornwal... Will be back and we recommend...

Fantastic place to visit whatever the weather. Friendly staff with a great knowledge. Tea room and toilets. Massive caves and cavens that on occasions does music. Went with friends had the entire cave system to ourselves. Highly recommend and you may even see a troll or a fairy.
