Heard some amazing reports on the food at The Griffin and was not disappointed.
First time tasting a John Dory and it was perfect. Cooked with cider, cockles and bacon, and served with dauphinoise potatoes. Also a ciabatta baguette to keep the dog happy.
Sun was out for a change so sat outside, looking over the estuary also enjoying a pint of The Griffin. Lovely afternoon in Dale. Will definitely be returning.

My parter and I went to this lovely pub/restaurant last weekend and we LOVED everything. Amazing service, we really appreciated that you guys found table in the conservatory for us. We also really enjoyed all the food but even more the fresh fish (perfectly cooked) and even with the rain the view was beautiful. Thanks again for this great time!

Really tasty LOCAL seafood and very friendly service. We were seated downstairs in the pub which was a bit loud and tight. The upstairs outdoors area however looked lovely - will try to get a seat in that part of the restaurant next time.

Had our Mini - Moon celebration dinner in the pub. I honestly cannot fault any aspect. Warm and cosy, friendly staff and the food was perfect. This pub was the find of our break. The seafood was truly magnificent. We shall be returning even if it’s 50mph winds and the sea is pounding the frontage 😂😂

Exceptional place. Very accommodating and welcoming. Free parking after 7pm in the middle of the bay and a great menu. Really good food. We loved it.

Food is 5 stars! Delicious, fresh, fantastic presentation, well worth the money!

The staff were all very friendly, professional, attentive & knew the menu off by heart!

I would recommend printing the fish menu, as you have a variety of options, it was hard to remember the description of each dish when the member of staff verbally informed us.

The interiors could do with modernising, and you’d really have something special here!

Overall fantastic food and service, highly recommend!

My husband and I had lunch here yesterday, celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. The food was glorious, we had 5 dishes from the fish menu. We ordered king prawns, scallops and fishcake for starters, then John dory and Gurnard for mains. Every dish had a fantastic and unique sauce. The seafood was cooked to perfection. The staff were delightful, very knowledgeable about the menu, we were well looked after.

We had a wonderful meal here after a long day of walking the coast trail. We were pleasantly surprised to find it open on Monday (when google said it was closed!). The sauce (brown butter and orange?) with the Gurnard was among the best sauces we’ve ever had. Pricey, but well worth it for an outstanding meal out in Pembrokeshire. Great service and lovely atmosphere as well, with views of the bay.

We called to see if takeaway was available; the kitchen was about to close but Natalie was absolutely superb and said she could see if the chef would do it and place the order for us (as we were only 10 mins out) and we could pay on arrival. So kind and above and beyond service!
Food was absolutely delicious, restaurant quality. Hubby doesn’t usually like tartare sauce but loved theirs. Fish gorgeous, batter spot on, chips done to a turn. Of course price is higher than a chippy but you get quality with it and 0 regrets on paying for it. Will defo keep this in mind next time we’re up this way! Thank you all so much for saving us from going home and cooking at 10pm. 😃

Fantastic all around. Had dinner there and came back for pints the next day. Seafood pie was exceptional, as was the monkfish with Thai spices. Scallops starter and toffee pudding dessert also delicious. Lovely setting by the water, with a patio upstairs if you prefer. Great, friendly service throughout.

A wonderful experience ….. we had been over to Skomer and booked the Griffin as we know it is fantastic . It was absolutely fantastic - and a wonderful culinary experience . Celyn our waitress was simply wonderful - and described all of the superb menu and fresh fish dishes so well - she made the whole experience simply fantastic and brought a charm to the whole visit .

The food was superb and some of the best we have ever had in Pembrokeshire . It is a bit of a drive down the peninsula - but worth every minute - it is beautifully crated with flair and beautiful in presentation , taste and flavour - the best seafood you will find in The West of Wales . Thankyou . The owners were also wonderful and have brought a charm to the west of wales that is second to none .

Cannot fault a thing from the friendly knowledgeable service to the non pretentious cozy surroundings.
And that's before I start on the menu options. If you are a fish fiend you will love the extensive choice caught fresh from the haven. I had scallops to start and cod as main. The meals were perfect. My partner is not as adventurous so opted for a pie which he said was delicious. We both had dessert I had espresso with vanilla ice cream, yum.
The only gripe is the service charge added on to the bill at the end. I didn't pay this and after querying it told this is optional. We left a tip instead. Honestly I 2ant to go back to Dale for this restaurant alone. Thanks all for a delightful evening. You don't need to dress up either which after walking or a busy day etc is nice sometimes.

Booked a table for 12 for a special birthday. The staff came to explain how all the seafood specials were served. The food was absolutely superb. Simon the owner and chef came out to meet us and ask how the meal was at the end. Cannot recommend The Griffin highly enough. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Proper friendly welcome. Very good and impressive menu knowledge from staff. We ate completely off the fish menu. Tasty food, pricey if eating off the fish menu but it was literaly off the boat. Ate outside, you can't access the terrace from the restaurant. Dog friendly.

Only stopped in for a swift pint, but wishing I had stayed much longer. Very nice and at a reasonable price.
