We booked the stables last minute and ended up extending our stay from one week to two. Fantastic accommodation with everything you could need including a gym, boules and hot tub. Rowena and Ben are lovely hosts and we were made to feel very welcome. My favourite part of our stay was the incredible shower! The area is beautiful and quiet and lots of lovely walks from the property. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anybody that wants a little oasis of calm with some lovely little touches on your arrival. Thank you for a very much enjoyed stay.

I was shown into recently refurbished accommodation in converted stables by welcoming and friendly hosts. I was immediately taken with the tasteful decor, and high standard of finish. The shower was fantastic, the bed extremely comfortable and overall the space was very well equipped. Importantly, I was also thoroughly impressed by the immaculate standard of cleanliness throughout.
I would definitely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, especially having such good access to Cambridge (and a great pub serving very good food within walking distance!)

We have travelled a lot and thought this was fantastic self contained accommodation. Clean, super comfy bed, big shower, plenty hot water, well equipped, lovely ambience, modern tasteful decor, so comfortable and quiet (cannot hear neighbours next door at all) , everything we needed and more, even some fresh eggs and a sweet note. Hot tub was new and delightful. Games room was a bonus with little gym and Boules game outside too. Exemplary, kind & caring hosts. Do not hesitate to book you will not be disappointed.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting family. The stable we stayed in (Victor) was very comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. Facilities (living area kitchenette bedroom and bathroom) were all superb and we had everything we needed. There were other facilities we didn't use such as a hot tub as we had plenty of visiting to do... but could see that others were enjoying! A lovely cosy haven to return to and relax. Lapped up the delicious complimentary freshly laid eggs and just loved observing the chickens that laid them potter about to their hearts' content! Rowena was very friendly and accommodating as a host and we will definitely return.
Beautiful grounds and surrounding area too just make this a perfect place to stay for anyone visiting the area.

Just back from a wonderful three nights at the Windmill Stables. The hosts Ben and Bo were very warm and welcoming and ensured that we had everything we needed for our stay, including access to a particularly strong WiFi signal. They were on hand for any advice regarding the local area but were never intrusive. The accommodation is excellent with good quality furnishings and an exceptionally comfortable bed. The bathroom is fitted to a very high standard incorporating a powerful rain shower. The games room and pool facilities, similarly appeared to be of a very high standard, but were not used by us on this visit. We really liked that the accommodation’s previous life as a stable was reflected in the naming of each accommodation unit and in the artwork. We loved the village location, local pub and made good use of the many quiet roads and cycle paths. Highly recommended.

We can highly recommend the Windmill Stables Holiday Lets. Set in a glorious location, Barrington. So close to Cambridge and the friendly local pub. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, clean and built to a high spec with everything you would need. The heated pool is just an amazing bonus. Rowena and her family made our stay so enjoyable, without ever encroaching on our space. We loved every minute of this break and would love to go back.

We booked Windmill Stables at the very last minute as an emergency booking with some fairly specific requirements for a physically less able elderly couple. Ben and Bo were wonderful at getting the accommodation ready at short notice taking care to accommodate the guests' needs. The accommodation was decorated to very high standard and was warm and comfortable even over a cold Christmas period. The guests were made to feel welcome by the whole family (who live in proximity) and the extended stay over 3 weeks was very pleasant. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well looked after. We would happily book to stay here again without a second thought and highly recommend to anyone wanting luxury accommodation just an easy 15-minute drive from Cambridge.

Every aspect of the stay was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay. We had the dog friendly accommodation and the adjoining garden was perfect. The standard of the accommodation was top rate, and was equipment with just about everything you would need for a perfect stay

The grounds are a delight, we used the pool and pétanque terrain every day. It’s walking distance into one of the prettiest villages you will find, and a short drive into Cambridge and Grantchester ( don’t miss the Orchard Tea Rooms)

Add to this the lovely friendly family who all make you so welcome and you have a fantastic holiday combination.

We had a wonderful stay here. The apartments are extremely well-equipped with high quality furniture and fittings. The bed and sofa are very comfortable and the setting is unbelievably quiet, that really took us by surprise. The owners are relaxed and approachable and we enjoyed a game of petanque with them and their family. We definitely recommend a stay here, it has the advantages of being in a village yet within easy reach of Cambridge.

Had a great stay, very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Accommodation was really clean, the shower was delightful and an extremely comfortable bed. The little gestures in the room from the host were really nice (thank you!). We really enjoyed the local area with plenty of walks and nice pubs. Would definitely visit again

We were the first visitors to this new stables conversion. The accommodation is beautifully finished. The appliances are all top of the range.
The games/recreation room includes gym equipment. There is a swimming pool and secure parking.
The owners are delightful and very willing to help.
There is a short walk to the village pub which serves good food.

Three holiday lets, converted from stables in the grounds of the owners house.

Each let includes a double en-suite bedroom, a kitchen and living area. They have a mostly contemporary interior, done to a very high standard and are fully equipped with everything you need.

Easy travel into Cambridge. We used the Madingley Road park and ride which was easy and cheap with the Stagecoach App.

We had access of a beautiful outdoor heated pool. We agreed when to use it and had exclusive and private usage at those times.

A warm welcome and excellent hospitality from this family run self catering accommodation.

The comfortable, cosy, spacious, well equipped, high quality accommodation in converted stables is in a delightful village and is well located for visiting many attractions.
To name a few:- American War Memorial, Imperial War Museum, Cambridge for punting on the Cam and Botanical Gardens, walks round Wicken Fens, Wimpole Hall and gardens, Ely Cathedral and a little further but worth the trip, Afternoon tea, view the house and walk round extensive gardens at Sandringham.

The swimming pool, gym/games room and communal ‘sun trap’ seating area are excellent. Ample parking on site.

Would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

Perfect harmony of countryside living and modern luxuries! Rowena & Ben have done an outstanding job in refurbishing the stables to lovely accommodation. This self-catered accommodation is in an idyllic slice of Cambridgeshire countryside and it’s amazing that they are sharing this with the world!

The stables are gorgeously decorated and fitted. Filled with luxurious modern conveniences, such as fully fitted kitchen (dishwasher, induction hob, fridge/freezer, etc.), rain shower, bedside usb charging points and more ! Things you would not expect to find in rustic accommodation. Each flat is thoughtfully fitted & kitted, which everything you could possibly need! In addition to the essentials (cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils), there were also extras like cafetière, nespresso machine, trays, and more!

On top of all the essentials & luxuries, Rowena also supplied us with some eggs from her own chickens, coffee from local roasters (hot numbers) and biscuits for the dog. It was such a joy to notice and enjoy every thoughtful detail that was prepared for us.

Facilities are top notch, the pool is to die for, and the games room/gym is well equipped.

The family were so welcoming and friendly too. We enjoyed watching their youngest son tend to the chickens, especially as he’d often come over to chat and explain what he was doing.

We will most certainly be back when we’re next craving a some relaxing times in this beautiful oasis.

Beautiful accommodation, all home comforts with great attention to detail. To be able to use the pool was a real bonus. Lovely walks through and around the pretty villiage, and Cambridge only a few miles. Friendly and helpful owners. Pub in walking distance the Royal Oak offers good food and Pimms
