The ticket barriers have moved to a new glass shelter outside the old brick built ticket office. You walk to the right of the brick building now to go through the barriers. A number 12 bus stop is directly outside to connect you to the car showrooms and hospital (almost) on Newton Road outside Torquay in Shiphay

Does what it says on the label, nice staff and good facilities.

Excellent station, friendly staff, easy to find platforms and clean and tidy.

PA keeps public well informed when a train brakes down, delayed or “more trains than usual needing repairs for a second time” (their words, not mine).
Also there is a postbox on the platform

Love shopping there. Best shops and still has many as apposed to Torbay.

Very nicely renovated with a smart new Ticket Barrier entrance and new signage. The whole station feels more modern, compared to the old somewhat run down one.

Great station for Interchange, and a nice town in Devon

Wow! What a beautiful train station! The building is so pretty and a lovely added touch of tropical plants along the line as well!

Busy station on the main line through Devon. Trains for the Paignton line also depart from here. Great GWR architecture and frequency of trains also make it good for rail enthusiasts.

Easy to get in and out of.

Easy access with friendly helpful staff. Busy station with GWR and Cross Country trains stopping here.

Well-designed station. It also has a photo booth. The town is nice, quiet and peaceful.

Nice, clean, covered and suitable for disabled people too. Personally I really enjoy when I travel by train and get to Newton Abbot , because I smoke and if I got 15 minutes before the train arrives I can go fo a cigarette without any stress, the smoking area is very close and you can even see the board from the smoking area.

A great traditional railway station about 10 mins walk to the town centre. It's a mainline station so all the fast intercity services stop here. There's a small coffee shop/cafe. Paying car park is adjacent to the station and is a good size. This station has ticket gates so you will need a valid ticket to get on the platform.

This station is wonderful. It has a bit of oldy worldly charm..as you pull in you know you are near the sea... It has hospitality.. a cafe
and grab a few snacks from the vending machine. It has loos. There are steep victorian stairs but a lift for wheelchairs. Taxis are around. Polite friendly staff. Summer is super busy with holiday makers as this is where you would change for other sea side destinations like Paignton or Torre.

Lived in Newton Abbot now over three years I use the train a lot liked the old set up more as I could get a coffee while I wait for a friend now you have to wait outside. Or wait till I get to where I'm going. But please don't let me put you off it looks good and staff are really helpful.
