I find 9 times out of 10 thebstaff helpful. They were very good when i bought 3 pairs of trainers on line and complained as i paid more than the price tags on the boxes!! They refunded me in full so all 3 pairs were a gift care of Sorts Direct :-)

Bought two pairs of trainers at lunchtime today and found the young woman staff member extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the different uses of the trainers. I'll be back and will be looking to do my shopping with her help again.

Still impressing stock levels considering it's only small shop. Recommended

We all have different opinions about Sports Direct, but people who are working in Ely shop are exceptional!

You don't go to SD for the high quality products. What you DO go for is run-of-mill stuff that you know will do the job. Given the well documented issues with pay and working conditions, I think the staff at this branch do a good job, and have been courteous and willing to help whenever I've gone in there. So, well done to you guys, and don't understand the mainly negative reviews.

I'm giving this store 2 stars because one guy, who I think was the manager, was helpful. The lady at the counter was rude, the guy at the counter was ruder than her. The shoes were originally cheaper than the massive sale price. The manager adjusted the price but the guy behind the counter didn't want to and didn't inform me of what the manager had agreed to do he just charged me.

I wanted to buy two t-shirts, but they were high up. I asked one of the staff if they can help so I can select two of my size. "I'm busy now so you have to do it yourself width he pole". This looked like the store manager probably, the guy with the dark hair Ok, I took the pole but there were so many T-shirts and it was impossible to get through them to see the sizes. I realise I was in a shop, trying to buy their products, but I just couldn't get the products, and the staff was not willing to help but rather rude. So I asked myself what am I actually doing here, and obviously left. Surely I'll find plenty of t-shirts somewhere else.

I wouldn’t have even give this place a one star but it wouldn’t let me click 0.
Absolutely disgusting service the manager who has dark hair and wears glasses was a joke to the whole company. I came in bought some socks now realising they were 2 for £8 I never got offered a receipt. When I left I realised they were 2 for £8 so I went back in and asked a girl politely if I could pick up another pair and pay the difference. I went to talk to the manager and the reply I got was “ I’ll just say the same as you’ve been told” I then said I wasn’t offered a receipt in which his reply was well that’s your responsibility to get a receipt not mine. My mum then came in and asked nicely about the situation explaining she works in Tesco and the receipt can be pulled up on the system considering there was a 5 minute gap from me leaving the shop and coming back his response was “good for you” there is so much I can write about this place but seriously avoid it at all costs it’s a joke.

Very poor service. The purpose of writing this review is to make customers aware of Sports Directs' non-refund policy (unless the goods are faulty). I recently purchased a gym top which was far too small. It was partly my own fault as I didn't try it on in the store (not knowing that a refund would be such a big issue). I took it back the following day and as they didn't have any larger sizes in store I asked for a refund. I was naturally very disappointed to be told that it was not possible to get my money back and that I would be given a credit note. All quite legal I understand. Most (reputable) businesses normally give monetary refunds as a gesture of goodwill. As the store didn't have any larger sizes of the garment I asked if they could order me one in. Not possible I was told. Brilliant (not). I was then kindly informed by one of the staff members that I could order a larger size myself on-line to be delivered to the store. This would however incur a £4.00 delivery charge. My experience in the store was getting better by the second (not). The staff were hardly sympathetic - in the end I reluctantly accepted the credit note. As Ely is a small store with limited stock I had to travel into Cambridge to visit a larger store to find something I liked, just to spend the credit note. In summary, make sure that you try on any garments and be 100% sure that you will keep any items purchased as you won't get your money back.

Almost all their shops are always like a jumble sale and a free-for-all. Far too much stock rammed on display.

Better quality at a Charity Shop.

I bought some darts and then I went home opened the package they were broken no receipt went back 2hours later a attemped to get a refund they were very rood to me the manager that is. By law you can return an item within 30days and you don't need a receipt . They said "I don't care mate! So I said that I would make a formal complaint and they were further rood to me!! Do not shop here it is a disgrace

The staff here are incredibly rude and sarcastic. I've bought a few things here in the past but after being spoken to like a simpleton and my wife being given a sarcastic response when she enquired about buying an item from their online store today I won't be setting foot in there again. Avoid at all costs.
