We stopped for refreshments at this tearoom and sat in the shady front garden, watching the world go by
The food was excellent, the service was good, and the garden we sat in was divided into "rooms" by foliage to provide a quiet and intimate experience. Our dog was given treats, which was very thoughtful.

A traditional English tea house by the river. The decoration and food/beverage presentations are very nice. The food is delicious and fresh, and they have a very extensive tea menu. We visited on the weekend, and although it was very crowded, we found a table quickly. The staff are very polite, helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Ely to stop by here.

The perfect location and a delightful atmosphere. Had soup, tea and scones. The prices are a bit high but the experience was lovely.

We did research on social media and found this tearoom which recommended by people for traditional afternoon tea. We ordered The Full Monty and Cream Tea set with other 2 lunch set. We enjoyed the scone and clotted cream, and the atmosphere outside brings us the spring vibes.

Stopped by here in October 2023. Best afternoon tea I’ve had in years. Cozy authentic location. Friendly staff and owners. Lavender lemon cake I was hesitant to try but can’t stop thinking about it. A must try.

What a lovely place. Quaint, warm and welcoming. So many things to look at around the walls (decor). A few different rooms and not too cramped. Service was great. Very polite staff. Food was so good. Fresh and light. Soooo many teas to choose from. A tea for every taste. Loved it. Well worth a visit. Doesn’t cost an arm and a leg either. There is an outside seating area which I imagine would be a nice place to sit in the summer, when the shrubs and plants are leafy and green. There is also a little book stand just before the entrance to tea room. Will try to visit in the summer just to see the difference and to enjoy the tea rooms again

A charming tearoom with a wonderful selection of teas and lovely food. So far we have tried various sandwiches, soup, the Welsh Rabbit/Rarebit and the carrot cake. The atmosphere and decor are lovely and the owners and the staff very pleasant and efficient.

☕ A lovely and delightful tea room. A beautiful walk towards the tea room through a floral archway and courtyard and into the front door. we were escorted through little rooms all decorated with lots of plates and crockery and nick nacks. All the tables and chairs were unique and add lots of charm and nostalgia.
🫖A very extensive choice of different teas and other drinks. A blackboard stating the days specials. Service was delivered with a smile and food and drink was served in good time.
Another thing that stands out is the noise. All the other patrons chittering and chattering adds a delightful atmosphere.

will definitely be visiting again.

Really quaint tea rooms, excellent cakes, sandwiches, and salads, great service my mum‘s toast was burnt and we didn’t have time to complain and get it done again but the lady noticed that she walked past took it off. The bill gave us a free bit of cake without us having to even ask. Would highly recommend

Really cute tearoom with vintage decor!
Super popular in Ely and finally got to try it! First of all, amazing selections of tea from all over the world!
Great selection of desserts and food! The brownie has chucks of walnut in it which tastes amazing, the scone was huge and delicious, the gooseberry pavlova was so light and airy, one of the best I’ve ever tried!
The decor was so pretty and unique, you definitely should check this little gem out!

If you ever are around Ely, you must come to Peacocks Tearoom. A great place to enjoy a traditional English tea, surrounded by beautiful views of the Maltings. They offer a big selection of tea and the cakes are delicious! I love the lavender and polenta cake... The decoration, atmosphere, and friendly service make this place a must to visit with friends or family.

They sell really good scones!
Had a grilled sandwich, quiche of the day, and cream tea. Savoury menus were ok. Scones came cold at first, so I mentioned to heat it up because the menu described as warm scones will be served! They replaced with warm ones. Clotted cream was really yummy, scones baked soft and buttery. Their tea selections were good, no bitter taste. It is a very busy cafe so service can be a little slow. Inside decorations are very British.

I am unsure if the tearoom has changed ownership ever since I first came 7 years ago.

Regardless, it is still a lovely place to have a nice tea (they have a wide selection) and have some cakes or sandwiches or go for a full afternoon tea experience 😊

The staff are incredibly friendly and lovely. I came here just before Christmas and had lots of nice specials for the season, including some Swedish delicatessens.

Totally one of the main reasons to visit Ely!

Already planning my next trip to Ely or Cambridge just to come here. And next time I bring friends! A perfectly lovely tearoom and in a great location. The staff were extremely welcoming, especially the girl that mostly served me. The building itself is beautiful, the outside patio stunning (that wisteria!) and the inside so quaint and surprisingly spacious. I ordered the afternoon tea for one which initially seems a little pricey but it's so worth it. Four tasty finger sandwiches, a large (and possible the best I've ever had) scone with clotted cream and a selection of jam. I chose raspberry, my favourite, never been a fan of strawberry. Then I could also choose a a slice of cake. Oh wow. The carrot cake was incredible! All served with a tasty own blend, loose leaf tea. It was perfection! I also ordered a glass of bubbly because the whole thing felt so special. Thank you.

Overall good first experience of English afternoon tea. The whole setup was very sweet. However, as suspected, the cake was too sweet, and sandwich was too salty, which was probably my personal preference. Tea and the scone were great.
