The Original Burscough Aquatics Store

Steve and Jay are top draw. Incredibly knowledgeable about this hobby but equally helpful for us to create a coral reef in our front rooms. Burscough is a bit of a drive for myself but the miles traveled doesn’t represent the quality given here from Steve and Jay. In my opinion the best Marine Aquarium Store in the north west and I’ve only been doing this hobby for 30years guys.

Always friendly every time I go in, got me started off in reef keeping after keeping fresh water for many years, with their great prices l, lots of stock on offer and helpfulness 👍👍

Great Aquatic store, staff all very knowledgeable and helpful in advice..I bought some Rummy nose Tetra’s, frozen and dry fish food..I always come here when needs be for my Aquarium..highly recommended.

I go out of my way to go here staff are friendly and helpful. But the live stock is amazing fish and corals always full of new stock. I can really recommend this please its a must see for anyone who is in the hobby.

I almost didn't go to this shop because of a couple of very negative reviews. I'm very glad I did as not only was their marine stock fantastic, They were extremely helpful and spent most of an hour helping and advising me. Got some really beautiful and healthy live rock! Will be making this my go to shop. I am rather frugal and the prices are very competitive even with online shops. I have no association with this shop, I wanted to write this review as I almost missed out on a real gem and wouldn't like others too because of some very negative reviews likely from an inferior rival!

I love Steve's place, crew and all. They make everyone I know feel welcome and a lovely cuppa on offer all the time, no matter how busy they are!

Love this family run shop (puppy as well) Everyone of them will go out their way to help and advise.
Forgot my water change butt, no problem borrowed theirs. Need to catch a fish, no problem borrowed their fish trap!

Have a fantastic selection of livestock and goods. I don't know how the haters expect them to stock everything and in perfect order in limited space. They are doing the best they can whilst trying to cater for everyone.

I have been keeping marines for over 20 years and been all over the country to many aquatic places and Steve's is by far in my top list. Purely on help, knowledge, selection and welcoming crew.

I have seen Steve and his crew be exceedingly tolerant with pretty damn rude customers who want something for nothing or just being plain arses.

I know Steve works damn hard trying to keep this running and in the meantime giving us the best selection he can. You will find it damn hard to find a better selection anywhere else in the north west IMO.

Visited again today, always a fantastic experience, everything looks healthy. The selection of livestock is overwhelmingly good & the variety of equipment & services is extensive. The staff are very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Just a really great place to go, would recommend it to anyone.

I have used this place for years the guys have so much knowledge and experience. They are always happy to help even with the smallest issues. Would recommend this place to first timers or hardened pros. Keep up the good work guys

Great service helpful large selection of marine items dry good fish and corals all of which looked healthy.
Prices were fine also found out they have a customer loyalty card which will be useful as I am starting of a marine tank for the firest time.
Will be visiting again for my marine supplies thanks.

PS thought we had left something behind in the shop I phoned the next day they were only to helpful to look thanks.

Really great friendly bunch that work there. They go over and above to help. Great advice and have a massive range of stock which isn't priced over online prices. Been to all the aquatics shops in the area and this is the best one by far. Could not recommend more!

One of the best marine specialist shops you will find. Always plenty of fish and inverts stock and plenty of specialist equipment not just run of the mill stuff. Well worth travelling to. The owner and staff are very helpful which is more than some I could mention in the NW. First rate. Pay them a visit you won't be disappointed.

Friendly staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. Reasonable prices and one of the best variety I have come across on the northwest. Huge selection of marine stuff including corals of all types, small tropical selection but very reasonably priced!

Wouldn't shop anywhere else. I look forward to going in on pay day to speak to the staff who are always more than happy to help and know so much about fish keeping. What's best is if Steve doesn't have what you want he will always do his best to get it for you. The amount of stock they do keep in is as good as any in the north west and fish are always healthy and feeding well before they leave the store.
