1st time going there today , always pass there and say I must try it sometime so today was that day. Lovely fresh hot food. Tasty and great portion sizes. Fairly priced. And the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Will be back , so thank you 😊 p.s the home made tartar sauce was beautiful and creamy 😋

All I could ever asked at a chippy. I had a large cod & chips, the fish was fresh, tasty, with a crisp batter, not too fat, I had a more than a decent portion of perfectly fried chips, gravy sauce was dense as I like it to be. Keep up the good work, cheers to the crew!

Not my local chippy. But I wish it was, The best chips I've had in a long time. Fresh, great portion size, and delicious. Great customer service, friendly, clean.
Will definitely be returning.

I only really go for chips, when I'm on this side of Kidlington. In that respect I've always been happy. A large portion is huge - easily feeds 3 and that's a hungry 3. Price is reasonable.

Are there quite a lot of "hard crunchy" chips, as some reviewers have complained about. I'd say yes - and I wish there were more! Some crispy chips mixed in with the soft fat ones is great.

As for the reviewer who complained about the chips being fried more than once... Heston Blumenthal cooks his three times!

Great little chip shop offering the usual chip shop fare, and a great curry sauce!! Portion sizes are good and the staff are so friendly, will definitely visit again soon!

Stopped off and sat outside, super friendly staff, lovely lady wiped the rain from the chairs, nice food, good price.

The lady on the counter was very friendly, and I appreciated the generosity as portions are really good sizes, definitely worth the money. She was training someone too so I could understand it must be difficult to give both the new staff member and customers full attention, but she still made sure she dealt with customers promptly, kindly and consistently. They make a fantastic tartar sauce in-house, which may I add was really very delicious! Also if you plan to go here, it's always nice to have cash as their card machine actually takes a small percentage of their earning which I think isn't very fair considering how good they were, they should always get the full profit, plus there is a cash machine just a few minutes walk up the road at sainsburys. Thanks again, Smarts! A very appetising meal.

We get chips from there very often. Really tasty and never a bad one. And the staff are so friendly

My son went to smarts with cubs and they gave them massive discounts and free lollipops.
They were really lovely. :-)

about 3 weeks ago I rang the shop to say that I was a little disappointed with the size of the fish my wife and I had. The lady owner was VERY NICE about this and asked me to call in when I returned from my holiday. I did so yesterday 29.11.22 and she was even nicer in person, two free (generous) potions FOC, an apology. I NOW feel a little guilty about complaining, but I must say the replacements were delicious and I highly recommend the this chip shop. THANK YOU.

Delicious! The staff are very friendly and helpful. I’ve been there many times and it has never disappointed me. I would highly recommend this first and chip shop. There kids box comes with a lollipop and fruitshoot (you can choose between blackcurrant and orange).Reasonable price as well.They also do cold drinks, pies and more!

Lovely food and friendly service. Their kids meal boxes are great and their chip servings are a decent amount - we share a small portion and a kids portion between two adults and one child.

Our team stopped here for a bite, en route to a job at the NTRG camp. Massive portions of thick-cut chips, and a nice, chunky piece of cod almost the size of my forearm! The taste was spot on, with the batter light and non-greasy. A colleague had the fish cake, and couldn't stop raving about it. So definitely a chippy worth popping in to!

Honestly gorgeous!! Went after a visit to blenheim palace looking for food at a reasonable price, I.e not get ripped off at the palace. Had cheeseburger and chips. £4.40. Couldn't finish the huge portion of chips, but boy did I try! Best food I had in ages!!

Excelent chip shop! Friendly staff, well cooked & good tasting fish and chips.
Use them 2-3 times a week consistently good food!
