The Tavern

Staff were absolutely incredible to myself and my friend on Friday night when we felt uncomfortable they kept an eye and made us feel really safe. Couldn't of asked for kinder bar and door staff thank you!

Love the decor, great pub, quite a fair size and 2 bars, I think theres a third bar upstairs? great place to grab a drink with friends and have a laugh sat on their comfy sofas!

weekends are good there, small entry fee but understandable. Main bar wraps around makes it very easy to get served.

Since moving to the area, I've always walked past The Tavern but have never gone in. Last night decided to go with some mates and watch them play pool. The pub ended up being really nice, the people working inside were friendly, and the prices aren't too bad. I'd definitely recommend stopping here on a night out x

A friendly pub with friendly staff and unlike Watergate, deserves full credit for employing decent, dedicated, competent and motivated door staff, as whilst I was recently passing by outside; I had a dangerous/violent robbery convict (banned from most pubs) trying to batter me outside, but was stopped from doing so by the doormen, even though he did not come from their premises and we were outside/on the street!

Well done Tavern - your staff have put the whole absent police force and certain rogue counterparts to shame for me and I hope this review will show people that Tavern is a safe, decent and responsibly run pub!

It's clean, allows children in and is a very friendly place to go to and enjoy a drink, play pool and listen to the music.

The function room in the tavern as you go up the spiral stairs go though the second door at the top and turn left and there is the function room. The tavern always leave the function room smelling nice and always clean. Lovely room to have a get together with friends a social drink or even any functions you want to throw. Lovely kind and presentable staff as well alway politely mannered. Very recommended. :)

Stopped here twice on the way and way back from Woolacombe. Seriously fun pub. Yes it doesn't do real ale for those aficionados (it does do smoothflow proper job), but who cares the two layer roof garden more than makes up for it. That, plus decent prices (£3,40 a cider) and crazy decent staff make it worth a stop. Don't listen to the moaners visit for a pint.

Chef, really professional decent food. Chicken wrap really nice and well presented. Staff really friendly and amazingly helpful. Nice atmospheric ambience.

Great pub, has aa light up dance floor. Reasonable prices, great rooftop smoking area when it's open. One of the few places with pool tables.

Good company, reasonably priced, friendly staff. One of the last remaining pubs with a decent beer garden in Barnstaple
