Dale Head Hall Lakeside Hotel

A hidden gem. I was welcomed by friendly staff. The mattress was amazing. The view of the lake from my room was beautiful. I will be coming back. Thank you.

The location is perfect; right in front of the lake. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Lastly, their buffet breakfast is good.

We actually booked another hotel but it ended up being a tiny box without window so we randomly found Dale Head and decided to give it a go. When we arrived, it was empty and took us a bit of time to get everything sorted. But the whole place was breathtaking. We stopped for 1 night on our journey but it became the best memory for us. It brought us the peace we forgot we deadly needed. In early morning, I could hear birds chirping and even saw rabbits digging up holes on the yard. Definitely worth the stay. The owner was very friendly as well.

Wow, what a place. A characterful property with astounding views. Set behind a small hill and woodland which completely drowns out any road noise to leave you with probably the most tranquil lakeside spot available in The lake district. Staff are accommodating knowledgeable hosts. Parking is good. Pub for evening meals is only 5 minutes walk. Hotel breakfast was good and set you up for the day (without being overkill on the calories and sending you back to sleep).
Fantastic walks available to all tastes and abilities. Bus service in both directions is near the pub.

Had a lovely break with my Wife at Dale Head Hall, wish we had stayed for longer! Being just off Lake Thirlmere there were some fantastic views. It’s very very quiet and there is a nice pub about 5 minutes walk away. We’ll be looking at returning.

I read some other reviews before arriving.So we didn't expect food from the restaurant,however breakfast was fine and filling, toast full English and fruit. We were very impressed with the hotel (yes it's a little dated and creeky) staff were lovely grounds and setting are impressive. No problems at all except for the weather. Would definitely stay again.

The location is stunning. Very peaceful. Upgrade to the lake view room, you will not be disappointed. No phone signal which helps with the holiday relaxation :)
Only slight thing is there was no proper breakfast due to coronavirus but we got a choice of bap and a few other things delivered to the room each morning which was nice

Booked two rooms for three nights. One was an apartment on the first floor. Loved their hospitality. They close at 11 pm so each time we were late, we called ahead and they made sure we were ok. Good hosts! Good scenic views ! Pleasant breakfast. They even did cleaning service to the apartment! Will recommend! The pictures are of the view and apartment.

Gorgeous lakeside hotel located just a few minutes away (by car) from Keswick. Many of the rooms will provide you a beautiful, tranquil view of the surrounding grounds and Thirlmere lake.

I only stayed here for a night, but would have happily stayed more. My room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, and I greatly enjoyed my time here. While I didnt indulge, there is a restaurant on site if you're wanting to dine.

This hotel is also very close to a large number of walks and hikes in the surrounding Lake District, making it an ideal spot to stay if you're visiting the area.

Quiet location, lovely views over the lake and spacious rooms. Friendly staff, and great cooked breakfast.

If you want a nice view then you can't really go anywhere better. Due to covid the restaurant is closed but couldn't fault the stay at all. Beautiful room with lake view. Spotlessly clean and at dusk there are bunnies playing in the garden!!!! What more could you want?

Everything about this place is five star.. I would totally recommend staying at this hotel over other neighbouring more popular location.. property is at the lake and well distance to get away from the regular touristy crowd in summers... Great hospitality by the owners and great English breakfast too.

Just got home from another lovely stay here. This is our favourite place to stay in The Lake District because it has an authentic country house atmosphere in traditional luxury without hordes of tourists. The prices are reasonable for the facilities and the staff are very welcoming and know exactly how to treat paying customers. I can't wait for next year's holiday.

A very pleasant experience overall, with a wonderful view from the room and friendly staff. (Just don't expect any high-powered showers and you'll be fine!)

Without doubt the best view I have ever had from a hotel room! Rooms are quite big yet cosily decorated. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended when visiting the lake district.

Quitely quant hotel in a beautiful location. The staff and food were well worth the stay.

View from the room was amazing and the host made a very big effort to help us as we were running very late. Location is great as its just on the lake and a very short distance to Keswick centre.

want to thank you all for a great welcom and great accommodation we enjoyed the great views and the breakfast was great I do hope you prosper well in the future yes the restrant is closed at the momentent but that did not matter as there is a pub just down the road 10 mins walking
