We popped in and enjoyed a lovely glass of champagne and an exceptional pint of real ale.
I returned an hour later for a bowl of Broccoli and Lincoln blue soup.
Obviously and another cheeky pint of ale.
Looking forward to returning for more of the same, when I have time to enjoy more.

Absolutely loved our visit on Friday evening, great staff, lovely atmosphere! They went above and beyond to cater to our intolerances. It was so refreshing to be able to order pretty much anything on the menu and have it dairy free (as they use alternatives)!! Will definitely return.

Very welcoming. Varied menu and all food cooked to order. Well worth waiting slightly longer, the meals were delicious 😋 Can't wait to revisit

A hidden gem of Hertfordshire. I could go on about how great the allergen-awareness is and how well-labelled the menu is for gluten free and dairy free, as well as the separate vegetarian and vegan menu. But that wouldn't matter a bit if the food wasn't delicious, which it absolutely is. The staff, service, and whole environment are great too. Always happy to make the journey for another visit.

I was a member of a large group having Xmas Lunch in January.

I would recommend this establishment as a training place for staff in chain restaurants! The service was absolutely excellent.

The Gluten-free options were clearly shown on the menu, with no hunting on a confusing App being necessary. When one dish wasn't available an (excellent) alternative GL one was offered.

Olde style english pub in a beautiful english village,only visited here for a family wake( we live in the southwest) .The pub closed doors for the family and close friends wake and provided great ambiance and an amazing buffet with plenty to go around, loads of coffee and tea on tap,will probably never visit again but thats only because we live 187 miles away but if we were to frequent this part of the UK,definitely would pay a visit, highly recommended.

Beautiful local pub that brings warm greetings as soon as you enter.
Such a cozy setting inside that welcomes your furry babies also. Most importantly the food is absolutely amazing and you have a wide range of lovely selection of drinks to wash it down with.
Definitely will be coming more often now we have found you guys, not too far for us in Hertford.

I've always liked the village of Braughing and passed The Golden Fleece many times. So many people here highly rate it and I can see why, the food is exceptional. The staff are polite and friendly which add to the charm of the lovely bar area. The fillet steak was a lovely cut and cooked to absolute perfection which gave it so much juicy flavour it'll be hard not to have every time now. Personally the menu looks great and knowing how good the chef is I'd like to try other dishes plus the specials but now I have this steak dilemma.
Although I was drinking low or no alcohol Speckled Hen which isn't far off the real thing taste wise there's a whole range of suggested wines to accompany each meal on menu.
Nice to take a stroll around the lovely village after too.

Great fillet steak!! So tasty and flavoursome. Service good, a little understaffed, but this was due to customers all turning up together. Would fully reccomend. Lovely clean pub, great atmosphere. Looking forward to returning.

There is also the biggest fireplace I've ever seen (apart from that in a castle). Would definitely recommend !

This pub is not nice. This pub is simply amazing. They serve the best steak sandwich in the universe. Service is always friendly. The food is delicious. The wine selection is top notch. I love the UK pub culture. And this gastro-pub does certainly one of my favourites. Simply delightful!

We had a lovely country walk and finished at The Golden Fleece a lovely pint and superb roast dinner sitting outside in February, also the staff were friendly and helpful thank you a perfect Sunday👍

Very tasty Sunday lunch roast beef followed by sticky toffee pudding cheesecake, all very delicious
