If you are trying to decide on staying here then please don't hesitate further.
The location, setting, hospitality, food, rooms are just fantastic.
I've just come back from celebrating my partners 50th birthday there and we were simply blown away with the service and even had a drink bought for us by the owner, how good is that and what a genuinely lovely person and his wife and son are.
The grounds that the hotel ard set in are spectacular and although this is deep winter it still looked amazing.
We shall go back in the summer and stay longer.
Please don't hesitate this really is a gem of a place set in a magnificent part of Somerset

Overnight stay on the way to Cornwall, friendly as soon as you walk through the door, told us what we needed to know concerning room & food, we were given a menu to choose our evening meal, you don't have to eat there, also directions for a walk. Complimentary tea/coffee& cake during your stay, carrot cake& sticky ginger cake both good, bedroom lovely & clean, not the biggest room but everything you need, kettle, teapot, tea, coffee,& sugar, a bottle of water also, not your plastic bottles, a proper glass bottle with a stopper, also a decanter with sherry,& 2 sherry glasses, there were also sweets. Bed was comfy, we had a lovely view, nice & quiet, the bathroom had blinds which you pull upwards, which worked really well, as you could still have windows open for ventilation, people wouldn't be able to see you, the shower was an absolutepower shower& piping hot. The food in the restaurant was beautifully cooked, £25 for 2 courses,£30 for 3, drinks extra, the duck & mango salad for starters was lovely, salmon & cod were both lovely, fresh veg, sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream, & a fruit meringue bombe were both good, breakfast was cereal, & porridge for hubby with honey & brown sugar, followed by a full English with toast. Our double room was £95 including breakfast, definitely recommend, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

Stayed at the Castle of Comfort for one night in November. Lovely cosy historic hotel in beautiful countryside. Breakfast was fantastic. Unfortunately I left my glasses at the Hotel which they were kind enough to post to me. Thank you.

What a fantastic place. Everything was superb - the welcome, the rooms, the grounds, the public areas, dinner and breakfast. But more than anything the service. Emily has to have special mention. She was everywhere and amazingly friendly and helpful. A top place. I will definitely stay again if in the area.

We recently stayed as a whole family, 14 of us, multi generational.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful from the waiting staff, quick mention to Emily, to the room cleaners and cook. Meals all good portions and very tasty.
Swimming pool was fun, rooms clean and fresh, nice touch with the sherry, all avenues thought of and catered for. Would recommend. Only 4* for location due to proximity to road, but can’t help that.

Really enjoyed our stay. Carol, who both runs the hotel and cooks, is incredibly good at every aspect of running a welcoming high-standard establishment, with all the finishing touches you could ask for. Plus she's both helpful and easy to deal with. The staff are just lovely, and the food we were given was tasty and well-presented, the wine good, and the cost very reasonable. Our room was both interesting and well appointed ... comfortable bed and great shower. The Castle of Comfort has a Grade II listing as a building – as a hotel and restaurant it's Grade 1*!

What a little gem this place is. We had it booked out for a couple of days for my dad's 70th birthday, and the staff were absolutely amazing. Always on hand, and nothing was too much trouble. Carol, with whom mum organised is it all through, was so lovely and helpful.
The place was lovely, I don't know about the other rooms, but mine (which had its own rear entrance) was amazing! Loads of space, nicely decorated, with a beautiful bath room/walk in shower.

The kids all loved it, and spent most of their time in the pool. The food was delicious (especially the high tea).
All in all, thoroughly enjoyed by all! Thank you Carol and crew! X

What a wonderful place.
The hotel is located about a 10 mins drive from, well anything really, in beautiful countryside. surroundings and looks fabulous. If I'm honest, the name sort of put me off a little when we were booking as it reminded me of a seaside B&B, but fear not, this is a classy place.
It's beautifully and very tastefully decorated with quality and authenticity everywhere.

The staff were simply amazing!!!
So incredibly helpful and friendly.
Brilliant!

We were arriving later in the evening, just after the restaurant was going to be closed, but they kept it open for us and we enjoyed an excellent quality and good value meal and weren't in any way rushed to finish.

Our room was lovely and quaint. Very clean and comfortable and had good quality complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and even, (and the first time I've ever had this), a carafe of sherry. Fantastic, loved it!

The bar and lounge area is very comfortable and welcoming and the bar stocks a good selection of drinks including local bottled beers all at reasonable prices too. (Highly recommended).
The staff member who was serving was so nice. Chatty, amusing and very informative.

The breakfast was excellent quality and there was a very good menu to choose from.

Unfortunately we were only there for 2 nights, attending a wedding nearby, but we both agreed we need to go back for another visit in the summer to explore the hotel, its grounds and facilities, (the outdoor heated pool will be open then) and local area more.

All in all, this is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it.
Thank you.

My children booked myself and my husband in for my 50th birthday for high tea, we sat in the gardens as it was such a beautiful sunny day, the food was amazing sandwiches were a good variety, and plenty of them with a selection of tasty cakes for after from a lovely cream scone to a hazelnut chocolate cake, with endless tea all being served to us by a lovely young lady Evie, who was very polite and pleasant and made our afternoon even more enjoyable, would definitely recommend and visit again.

My husband and I travelled to the Castle of Comfort for a wedding nearby. I advised them that we would be arriving late, as we were coming down from Yorkshire.

Carol greeted us as we arrived, and she was so friendly. Our room was lovely and the team couldn't do enough for us. I also have to praise Emily, who was perfect and she made us feel so welcome.

Nothing was too much and they helped us get a local taxi etc.

Breakfast was amazing and we did eat on the Friday night... delicious!

Thank you to the team.

We had a first class meal here last night. Service was superb, ambience and decor was beautiful and food was terrific. Everything was quality - linen tablecloths, napkins, warmed fresh bread rolls and ambient music well chosen.
We only came for an evening meal but next time we shall stay overnight too.
Thank you castle of comfort for living up to your name.

Booked for an overnight stop en route to Cornwall. Well worth it, great location, great food and excellent staff. Good access for disabled, through the front door, there are steps at the other doors. Sufficient parking for guests and staff. Large bedrooms, very comfortable and clean. Wish we had booked a longer stay. Will definitely go back.

We were on vacation with no reservation and found this hidden gem. The owners were delightful and booked a room with that was beyond any place we have ever stayed. We experience the true English abeyance of a 16th century Inn with a large room, modern furnishings and wonderful B&B. The English Breakfast was to die for! Highly recommend this to anyone wanting a member able stay in Somerset.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Great staff and owners always available to look after you and support your needs.

Amazing food, breakfast, afternoon tea and cakes plus great lunches and dinner. Bar facilities are fab too.

Great location for all the local beaches and attractions.

My own issue with 5 stars is we love this place so it may get booked up quickly. Highly recommended stay.

Spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel. Our room was very spacious with a large well equipped bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The COVID procedures throughout were excellent which made our stay safe and enjoyable. The food was excellent and the customer service was outstanding. Would definitely stay again.

Booked in advance for a baby shower. Had regular contact with staff which was very helpful. They accommodate all dietary requirements, from gluten free, dairy free vegetarian and vegan and even take in to account of any allergies you may have.
During the event the staff were so accommodating and very efficient and had excellent people skills. This is such a lovely place to go.
Thank you to all the staff for all your hard work.

A lovely place with an excellent friendly staff. On Sunday evening when there was no food served, Carol brought me home made treats, creme brulee & delicious flapjack up to my room as an unexpected gift. Avoid room 2 as it is right near a road. I was put into room 6 which was twice the size and very comfortable except for some kind of pump in the bathroom wall which made an annoying noise. I seemed to solve it by not flushing the loo until the morning.
