The Three Willows

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to meet up halfway between us and close to EV charging so I suggested Birchanger services….. we found the Three Willows, a definite better option!

Plenty of parking and a warm greeting when we arrived. We had reserved a table - very glad we did as the place was full (Saturday lunchtime).

Good vegan menu, with both gluten and lactose free options for those that need it - good solid menu for everyone else. Service was friendly and engaging, food was excellent.

It’s the little touches that bump up the rating, I ordered ribs, automatically for finger wipes and spare plate for the bones, good knowledge of the menu and just a pleasant atmosphere.

We will definitely be back for our next meet up!

We had a family party for my daughters 40th here at Three Willows .. menu was great many choices.. food cooked superbly and the team looked after us all very well ! Can certainly recommend Three Willows !!

Dinner at this pub was great after a long flight from the US. Delicious fish and chips, good service and a lovely inviting atmosphere.

Lovely lunch and friendly staff. We’ve been here a few times before as we aren’t local and it never disappoints. Welcoming and professional from the start and food as good as I remember from last time.

An excellent pub with big, great value plates. We visited recently as a convenient stop off on the way to a holiday, and got a warm welcome and some delicious food.
Portions are big - I had the gammon steak with chips and two eggs, while my friend had the rock eel & chips. Both were great value, and we'll cooked. If I lived nearby I'd be here all the time

Big "thank you" to Charlotte and all the staff at The Three Willows for the service we received on Sat 31st. Despite how busy they were (and they were rammed), the food was good and the service was excellent.

We stopped in here for lunch on our way from the Grand Prix to Stansted Airport. The setting in the village is lovely. The bar/restaurant has plenty of space & tables with a marquee & large beer garden out back. The menu is comprehensive with something for everyone from lite bites to full meals with all the pub classics. Every dish was home cooked to order & absolutely delicious. Service was excellent & toilets lovely. Highly recommended!!

Lovely pub, hidden away from it all, big beer garden, fab food and friendly service

Stopped here on way back to London from Audley End and was pleasantly surprised by how great it was! Excellent food (great chips; well cooked fish & veg; lovely light batter; fab children’s goujons- all homemade and delicious- and really quality ice cream and gorgeous lemon lush dessert) and a children’s play area in spacious beer garden was perfect. Food came out v quickly - really efficient and friendly staff.

A lovely pub with a warm welcome.

We had a really good meal. Our food was freshly prepared, the portions were generous and good value. There is a children’s menu available and the portion sizes are similarly generous.

There’s a reasonable selection of real ales and the pint I had was well kept.

There is a good sized children’s play area in the large garden.

Highly recommended for those travelling on the M11, it’s 5 minutes off the motorway, with much more tasty food and far better value than a service station.

Great food. Lovely garden for the kids with play equipment. Nice staff. When we are in the area it is becoming a reliable favourite.

Lovely pub with lovely food. Great service. Popular pub, so either go early or book your table. Good sized portions. Had the ribs & salmon fillet. Very nice.

Terrific little country pub. If flying from Stansted, there is nowhere better to stop for a pre flight lunch. Food was excellent and great staff.

Loved the cricket theme in here. Food also very good. Nice large beer garden with kids slides, although too cold for us in November

Food is nice, but the service is taking too long to bring you the food.

This is how good family pubs used to be. Really friendly service. All the pub grub staples. Generous portions. Good value. Unpretentious. Will definitely go back.
