Brilliant place. My daughter had a tick bite, and we were recommended by the lovely people at Miller ground to go here. Really professional, and although I was panicking, your man showed me how to get rid of the tick and guided me through it. One tick removed successfully!!! Thank you so much for helping us and thanks for being lovely about it. Recommend this place.

I am sitting next door having dinner reflecting on the wonderful service I just received buying hiking boots at this shop! Not only was I helped right away and ended up with reasonably priced and great quality boots, our salesperson quickly went out of his way to help us map a hike for the next day and how to best prepare. A million thank you’s!

Top service from this family owned and run shop. Always pleasant and happy to greet you. Great selection of outdoor gear, if they haven't got it they will try to get it for you. It's a shame that there are not more places like this .

Came in for a coat but advice and products so good that we bought 2 coats 2 hats waterproof socks and a pair of boots. Cost a fortune but 4 months on, all well worth the money. Excellent retailer

Best independent sports shop I've ever been to. How can I have been going to sports shops for years, and straight away the women knew insoles were needed for high arch, she pulled out a foot pressure mat and confirmed it. She knew exactly the things we needed, big or small budget you can get it all here. Lovely atmosphere, I was in here for quite a while and definitely felt welcome the whole time. Nothing is too much trouble to ask. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Love this place! Super friendly and helpful! Came to the Lakes without the right pants for the weather. Stuart outfitted my husband and I perfectly! We wore our new over trousers out the door and were Happy Campers the rest of our stay!

Excellent service from everyone at the shop. I popped in a few times looking at and trying on walking boots - they recommended me the best value for my budget. When I left with a pair, they were slightly too small and were more than happy and very quick to sort out a correct sized pair for me. Additionally they were very welcoming and chatty. Will definitely use again.

Whilst staying at Windermere Marina celebrating my birthday week, we decided to visit this amazing little shop. It was like an Alladins cave full of outdoor gear. Loved it and could have spent all day in here. Got some excellent advice from the gentleman and ended up buying a lovely Merino wool base layer and a pair of Mountain Equipment walking trousers. Needed some walking shoes for my teen son - this place was recommended by another retailer in Bowness. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable, customer service second to none. Great quality product - and excellent advice on a fantastic walk that was had the following day. Would go out of my way to return here.

Lovely shopping experience, Stuart and James were very welcoming and helpful in terms of explaining walking boots but also about where to hike while I was here in the Lake District. The selection of goods here is of high quality too, would highly recommend a visit to anyone passing by

I needed to replace my 30 year old Scarpa boots (a sad occasion) and was worried a new pair just wouldn't be as good. However, I was given lots of information and advice, none of which was in the slightest bit pushy, and eventually settled on a Meindl pair. We ended up buying two pairs as my husband's existing pair were on their way out too. We spent the following week doing some pretty hard, wet walking and had the driest, most comfortable feet ever, every day. I'm now wishing I'd been to Stuart's sooner! I would definitely shop there again as the service was exemplary.

Was looking for good walking shoes, popped into this shop and was welcomed by the owner. Very informed on what they are selling. I bought a pair that was discounted and very good quality. Put them on to walkin around town. They are very comfortable. Will defo visit again and highly recommend.

The staff couldn't be more helpful. Went today to get a child carry rucksack and the staff had a good choice to pick from. And the store is full off good brands at good prices. And there knowledge off the products tops any store iv visited before
