The Beach House

Always happy here. Maybe it's cause I've usually been just in the sea and am stoked to be in the warmth with a coffee or maybe it's because the food is excellent, the vibes are chill and the staff are friendly (in addition to heat and good coffee). Best for brunch I'd say - so many brunch options beyond just the usual (including the Turkish eggs which are a winner). They also just do a really good filled roll AND they can put veggie haggis in it praise the lord.

I love the Beach House in Portobello. It was a great vibe, lovely happy beach theme decor and overlooks the beach. It's ALWAYS busy here especially at weekends, no matter the weather but the queue outside is worth it and it usually moves fairly quickly. They also have seating outside on the prom, right on the beach side - just wrap up warm in the winter as you'll get plenty of blasts of cold fresh air.
The food here is excellent as are the coffees. We love the Breakfast rolls.
This place is popular with locals and tourists alike.

Lovely café/restaurant by the beach. Good range of pastries, cakes, breakfast items and other options. Great coffee too. We had the shakshuka and the Turkish eggs.

100% I would recommend this place. Situated on the beach and promenade it’s a great place to grab breakfast or brunch. The food was fantastic and the coffee was excellent.

This place is a real gem. You feel as if you're being looked after as soon as you put a foot in the door. Lot's of friendly, smiling staff. Food is lovely. If it's busy, you may have to wait a while for food but it's not a fast food café, it's a good food café so worth the wait. Anyway most tables have a view over the beach so it's easy to pass the time.

Bright and cheery cafe overlooking the seaside. We were seated right away. Cafe is busy as to be expected with the seaside location. The have an attentive wait staff, but not hovering. When you're ready to order dessert, just go to the glass case to order what you like and they will bring to the table. It is a slower paced vibe. I wasn't surprised by the prices since it is a seaside location. The mocha and dark hot chocolate were delicious and piping hot! Only downside is the water glasses are on the super small side. They do bring you a large glass bottle to keep at the table to refill the water glasses from. The food presentation was carefully done and artistically so. Everything was so yummy!

Fantastic service all round. Great delicious food, served quickly as well. Staff are fantastic and attentive.

I would highly recommend this place for afternoon tea or lunch. It’s so cozy to take a table near the sea, whether inside or outside, and enjoy nice coffee or cakes. I felt so relaxed in such a beautiful place. Also, staffs here are quite friendly and passionate.

I've been coming to The Beach House for many years over the past decade and one thing that never surprises me is how busy and popular The Beach House is.

There's always a very steady flow of business and the reason for that is the food, the drinks and the current waiting staff.

Indoor and outdoor tables are available as well as takeaway options. It's situated in a great location along the promenade, so some great coastal views if you are lucky enough to grab a table by the window.

The oat milk cappuccino is a must for any lactose intolerant sufferers.

Food is always immaculately presented, very tasty and fresh.

The location on this spot is just great! I’m so surprised this spot doesn’t come up as a recommendation, and if we weren’t having a super slow day, I don’t think we would’ve ever come to this part of town,

The shakshuka and orange juice were top notch! The hot chocolate was great too, but the marshmallows were one too many for me. I’m also not a big fan of marshmallows to begin with, so I can’t imagine that I would’ve liked it any better if there were lesser of them.

This is a great spot to grab breakfast and take a walk down the beach!

Our go to place during our stay at portobello beach! Located directly at the beach, this is the perfect place to start your day, either with breakfast oder lunch ;). It is family friendly and although often very busy, service is ok. The food is great and the vibe is great. Loved the beach house.

Really lovely lunch, delicious food and hot drinks and a great selection of cakes, including lots of vegan and gluten free cakes. Space for buggy, clean a d bright and friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Definitely a great place to visit and have a lunch or whatever you want just front of the Portobello beach.
I’ve been there twice with a friend and the place is very busy, sometimes you have to wait a little but it worth it. I was lucky the last time as we have 7 people before us but we got allocated prompt as we are only 2 people.
The waiting time to be served is not much, the staff is very friendly so I highly recommend this place.

The Beach House never disappoints. It’s great place to have a coffee with your dog after a walk down the beach a friend, have a work meeting or to just go for a weekend treat.

Indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside at one of their many parasoled tables and stayed dry, despite light rain.

Lovely! It was very busy for a Saturday breakfast, but it was worth it. Beautiful view of the sea, great quality of food, friendly staff and an amazing service.

The coffee shop is cosy with an amazing view of the beach and friendly staff. We had delicious cakes ( amazing selections of gluten-free cakes too) with cappuccino.

The “Porto smash” is excellent, and the servers are really nice and friendly
