The Roman Camp Inn

Two friends & myself booked here for afternoon tea.
We were so impressed with everything.
My friend has a dairy/soya/gluten intolerance, so we were not sure what to expect. We didn't need to worry. She had finger sandwiches, made with gluten free bread, scones with jam & alternative cream & other small cakes. Her food looked just like ours and it was all so nicely presented & tasty too. There was a lovely table cloth with place settings & a 3 tier cake stand for each of us with china plates, tea cups & saucers. Also endless pots of tea.
In fact, everything you would expect from an afternoon tea.
We sat in the new Glass House, which was lovely, overlooking a beautiful view. The staff were very attentive.
We thoroughly enjoyed it & we all highly recommend it.
As an end note, we paid by card but couldn't tip the waitress as their tips are cash only & we had no cash. I will pop one in next time I pass. So if you go & would like to tip, take some cash.

I cannot thank the staff enough. We booked to convene at the Roman Camp today following a family funeral and had estimated 15 people would attend and 24 turned up. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and kitchen and they immediately without hesitation offered and provided additional food, teas and coffees and were so helpful, courteous and thoughtful. The food was presented beautifully and all of the guests commented on the excellent service and quality food. They did not rush us and made a challenging day so much easier with their kindness.

We stopped here on the way to overstrand. The food looked and tasted delicious but as most places here it's rather expensive. We had carvery which was £15.99 then drinks and 2 puddings cost just over £100

Superb restaurant with beautiful garden views. Food was prompt and cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend.

One of our favorite places to enjoy a drink in the sunshine. The outside seating areas are absolutely beautiful!
And inside is clean and cosy with a lovely atmosphere.

Just called in on the off chance for a quick lunch. Fantastic beer garden with an outdoor bar and very nice outdoor seating.
We have a small dog and this was a great place to relax.
The menu was varied and had a few reasonably priced lunch options, coupled with some nice local draught beers.
Well worth a visit.
Can't comment on the rooms but would imagine they were at a high standard as the property was well maintained.

Only stopped for a pint , my lady loved inside very welcoming staff all had a smile will most definitely be going back to eat

We had an early evening meal and received a warm welcome as soon as we walked in. Staff were friendly and efficient. The menu had a good choice and every one of us said how delicious our meal was. Perfect sized portions of well cooked fresh food.

We had lunch yesterday and the food was superb. The meats were perfectly cooked and the vegetables were delicious. Finished with the bread and butter pudding, the best I've ever had. Thank you.

Just eaten at this lovely Inn. Booked a table for 2 for 6pm, but we rang earlier to change time to 730pm. They were very accomodating.
Lovely meal and great service by Fiona.
Would recommend the Suet Pudding and Sticky Toffee Pud! Both home made! Lovely.

Truly wonderful place for lunch. Myself and my family had lunch here last week. The food was good but the two things that stood out as outstanding was the garden location and the service. We were served by a young woman in her early 20s who seemed so happy in her work. My 7 year old daughter was rather taken by this addictively delightful attitude. She's a credit to the business

An all time favourite for my family, good choice of food, we found something for the 2 year old to the 86 year old. There's a lovely dining room or you cannot sit near the bar. Staff are all very friendly and you can take your dog if you sit on the garden.

We had an excellent meal, very pleased we decided to start our evening out with a late lunch here. Food was great, staff welcoming and service was very good.

We had table service, we sat outside as the weather was good. The service was second to none. The staff couldn't have been more efficient and helpful. Our meals where perfect. I had the salmon 😋. Steak was cooked to perfection. Presented perfectly

The Roman Camp Inn is one of the top restaurants/inns in the area. It's a relaxed atmosphere, good service, good selection of beers and a good restaurant menu. You won't be disappointed.

Sunday lunch was lovely and grand mariner pan a cotta was excellent.

We held our Father’s wake at the Inn, and everything was perfect. We had a lovely large room with seating. The sun was pouring through the windows which looked out onto the beautiful garden. The staff were amazing, they couldn’t have been more helpful. The food was fantastic and well presented.
Later on in the evening the family had dinner upstairs, but unfortunately I wasn’t feeling up to it so I sat downstairs in the bar area. The staff couldn’t have been kinder, they looked after me, brought me tea and made sure I was ok.
Thank you ever so much to everyone that worked on Monday 10th October 2022, you were all brilliant. If I could give you 10 stars I would xxxx

We were on our way home and needed to drop in somewhere for lunch. Our 6 year old was not so keen, making a fuss and crying. I thought we'd need to get back in our car and go without lunch. However, a lovely lady waitress had soon made everything better by handing out pens, paper and comforting words.
