Swan House Tea Room

We stopped off here last Sunday just for a coffee break on our day trip from Porthcawl to Gloucester, and we’re so glad we did. This is a lovely little place in an ideal location if you’re visiting the area.
Although we were strictly speaking too early at the tea room the owner was very welcoming and opened up for us and we had a lovely chat over coffee and excellent ginger cake. He told us all about the history of the building and about the work he had personally done to restore the place. Sorry mate I didn’t get your name. If we’re passing again we’ll certainly call in for a cuppa.

Don't drive by this wonderful little restaurant! We stopped for afternoon tea, at lunch time today, and were rewarded with exceptionally friendly service and a fabulous tea. Delicious sandwiches, and simply the best homemade scones and cakes I have eaten not at home! We opted for plain scones, jam and cream but there is array of wonderfully imaginative flavours, including savoury versions offered with cream cheese and chutney. Don't miss this gem of a tea room just 10 minutes out of Chepstow.

My Husband and I had the most amazing deluxe savoury afternoon tea . The sandwiches, choice of savoury and sweet scones were delicious and the rest!!! Plenty of pots of tea arrived with friendly and welcoming staff always attentive. This place is perfect for any event and it made our wedding anniversary celebration perfect.

Sue and Sam couldn't be more helpful and friendly, We had a few telephone conversations beforehand and they were sooo lovely. The afternoon tea is divine!!The range of scones both sweet and savoury was fab and so nice to have a choice. Everything is made on the premises too.
The sandwiches were really fresh and soft and very moreish. There was even mini trifles, my husbands favourite!! We had a glass of prosecco included and because my husband was driving Sue asked would he like a non alcoholic 1 which was really thoughtful.
We got there early so sat outside and enjoyed a coffee.
Can't wait to return and was 100% with the hours drive to get there.

Stayed for one night, lovely surroundings, great room, spotlessly clean. A friendly reception, looked after very well, breakfast was a1. Also a great night's sleep. Would recommend and would stay here again no problem. Ty all at Swan tea rooms and b&b.

Absolutely delicious deluxe traditional afternoon tea for 2 with both sweet and savoury scones in a lovely quaint setting. We chose home baked warm Stilton & bacon savoury and raspberry & white chocolate sweet scones baked on the premises by Sammy.

They were in addition to the sandwiches, savoury pastries and sweet treats ….. there was so much food for the 2 of us that we brought some home.

I can’t say enough just what an amazing place the Swan House B&B and Tea rooms is. Set in pleasant surroundings. A very warm welcome and everyone there is so friendly.
I had afternoon tea here a few weeks ago, then this weekend we returned and used our Buy a gift voucher to have a 2 course meal with wine. We chose Steak pie, with mash and a selection of veg, followed by lemon & lime pie with vanilla ice cream. I couldn’t fault it. At last a restaurant that knows you oven bake short crust pastry, and not microwave it , as I’ve come across on so many other occasion. The main meal was served piping hot & very well presented, the dessert was delightful, not too sweet and very tasty. We will definitely be returning to enjoy more of their delightful menu. Do yourself a favour and try this amazing little tea room, you won’t be disappointed.

Had a wonderful one night stay here on Tuesday 9th July. Martin and the team were wonderful and the overall experience surpassed all expectations.

Wonderfully comfortable rooms, lovely food, honest people and very true hospitality made this as good as it could be.

Afternoon Tea booked via RedLetterDays. Lorraine was helpful with the booking, friendly in person and a fabulous host to a group of 6 adults and 2 children, really welcoming. I can't really describe what an amazingly tasty varied and clearly home baked concoction of yumminess we worked our way through (although we tried really hard with the upgraded menu, we had to take some home)!
We will all be back, I'm certain-those scones were out of this world! Thank you Lorraine

We have been today for my birthday and had a lovely afternoon tea. So relaxing and lovely ladies and gent to chat to. Will be going back again very soon and have recommended it to my friends.

We came to Swan House Tea Room for Christmas afternoon tea on Christmas Eve and we had such a lovely time! The owner is so lovely, friendly and chatty and we felt so at home. The food was lovely and everything was set to a really high standard, we were very impressed. It was all festive themed and we even had Christmas crackers to pull! We couldn’t eat it all but they gave us a box so we could take it home.
They also let us have a sneak peak in the new b&b rooms which looked very modern, comfortable and luxurious. Would highly recommend!

My friend and I visited today to celebrate her Birthday. The hosts were very welcoming and the Afternoon Tea that we experienced was a delight. Numerous choices of flavoured scones, both sweet and savoury that you could choose from. Endless tea and coffee. The cakes and sweets were all really lovely. Certainly be back again.

It was excellent. Two lovely ladies looked after us. Would definitely go back.

I arranged a baby shower for my sister in law and the ladies were so accommodating and welcoming. We had 3 which needed to be gluten and dairy free which more often than not can’t be catered for especially for afternoon tea. However it was no problem at all, and all 20 of us were able to enjoy a lovely afternoon celebrating our impending arrival! Lovely hosts, beautiful surroundings with stream on perimeter of premises. Delicious breakfast. Highly recommended.

We had a three night stay to explore the Forest of Dean & Wye valley. The location was ideal for this. The breakfast was cooked fresh every morning by Martin the owner & it was very good. Our room was very clean & comfortable & we would stay there again.

I was treated to the most delicious afternoon tea I have ever experienced.
Sweet or savoury scones, sandwiches, cakes galore. And as much tea and coffee as we could drink.
Far more than 2 people could eat. Exquisitely presented.
We went home with a cake box full of the items we couldn't eat.
The service was warm and friendly.
Highly recommended.
