We stayed here after a friends wedding, as it was only a few pounds more expensive then the local Premier Inn, and included breakfast.
We found the whole hotel stunning visually, from the reception to the rooms.
We were greeted on arrival, and our room was ready for check-in per our request which they were more than happy to accommodate.

The bed was soft (though I prefer a flatter pillow) and the bathroom spacious.

I spoke to the staff on the phone a few times before our stay; each time they were friendly and helpful, as they were on site. They were so welcoming and warm.

We were offered hot drinks to our room in the morning, which was included also, and the breakfast options, though small, sounded amazing. All we could manage were rolls but they were delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection.

We have another wedding next year and we are already thinking of our next stay then!

I’ve visited this hotel for many meals over the past few years, and the service is excellent every time! The beautiful decor, range of delicious food and drinks makes this place a great destination and choice for me.

I also had a memorial afternoon tea with my family and friends that I’d booked two years ago.
All areas of this hotel are lovely, especially the orangery room where we had booked for my children’s Memorial Day.
I was able to decorate the table before my guests had arrived for their meal, and we were all looked after so well on a day that is very painful time for me.
A big thank you to all the staff that were so caring and attentive 😊

I was taken by my niece for afternoon tea along with my daughter and sister. We were taken through to our table and given the drinks menu. The room was light and nicely set out. There was only one other table in use during our time. It was very peaceful and relaxing.
The table was beautifully set out, we loved the crockery designs.
I have some dietary issues that my niece had emailed at the time of booking. When we arrived, a waitress came to double check with me.

We ordered, and were served with our tea choices, individual pots of loose leaf.

Our food soon followed with one stand for myself and one for the rest of our group. It all looked delicious.
We had a round of sandwiches each- I had ham and mustard, smoked salmon, and chicken. Next, a plain and a fruit scone with plenty of jam and cream ( mine was dairy free and tasted lovely. Finally, a selection of mini cakes, again all delicious.

We were offered more tea and all had fresh pots. We couldn't manage all the cakes, so were given boxes to take them home.

The staff were very smart, very pleasant, polite, helpful and attentive.

We all had a lovely afternoon and would return.
Thank you.

A magical place. One of the most memorable places I have ever been. Alex helped us arrange a baby shower. This little gem is the perfect canvas for an event. Everything went smoothly and guests kept complementing our choice of venue. Food was great. I when I travel to the UK again I hope I get the opportunity to visit The George Hotel again!

On our local high street. We have been to the George several times since we moved to Buckden in November and the team have always been very friendly. My young son and I came in today as a little treat and they have been very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Brilliant at the George we have been twice this week served by Holly excellent service. I had the halloumi fries , pork and the sticky toffee pudding all were good and all was finished. And I then had an amazing rum inspired mocktail made by Elliot. Recommend

Welcoming - relaxed atmosphere - attentive staff - reasonable prices and great food. In the area for work, the staff were great, finding us a quiet table where we could work. Lovely beetroot and goats cheese salad for lunch. Nothing was too much trouble. Parking and nice outside sitting.

A great find just off the A1. The restaurant didnt seem to be available when we arrived by chance about 8.30pm but we had some very nice freshly prepared sandwiches in the bar. A very pretty historic and beautifully presented place, wood panelling, oak staircase, very smart big loos. Parking in road nearby.

I hadn't been here for many years. We popped in for a birthday lunch one Friday without making a reservation. First class service from the staff; no standing around feeling invisible when you enter. We were welcomed warmly, shown to a table and provided with menus.
The hotel looks to be superbly styled and decorated.
The food was very good as well. An interesting alternative to The Ivy in nearby Cambridge.
Thank you!

This place is absolutely lovely. We stopped in for a rest and a snack and loved it so much we came back for an afternoon tea and dinner. The pastry was delicious, staff attentive and kind, and the ambiance was incredible. Next time we're in the area, we will definitely come back and plan to stay for a night or three. I would absolutely recommend The George to friends and family.

Met up with a friend for lunchtime drinks. Very dark, but stylish grey interior. No draft beers, but a reasonable selection of bottled beers, wines and cocktails. Service was good and people pleasant. Everywhere is clean and tidy and the toilets are spacious and light. The tables outside catch the sun, but there are umbrellas for shade. We're returning in a couple of weeks to meet friends for lunch and will update the review then.

Enjoyed a great evening out with my wife. This was the first time that either of us had visited the George in Buckden but definitely will not be the last. The building is fantastic with superb decor and an incredibly comfortable ambience. We were helped throughout the evening by the nicest staff you could ask for, nothing was too much for those lovely people and they all wear a smile. The food was terrific and enjoyed by both of us. We can't wait to come back again and sample some more of the menu. Lovely place. Thank you for helping us enjoy the evening.

I stopped into the George for a coffee last week as I'd travelled down from Leeds and needed a quick pit stop, this is a place I always used to come with my Dad who recently died so it meant a lot to me to be able to come back as I no longer live in the area.

Anyway this hotel is absolutely beautiful! Feels so opulent throughout. Even the toilets are really luxurious and like nothing I've seen in other hotels not even 5 star ones!

The staff are an absolute credit to this place, nothing is too much trouble and they were happy to stop and chat. I didn't get the names of the staff members who looked after me but at the bar was a gentleman with short blonde hair and a woman with shoulder length brown hair. They're a credit to the hotel and made sure I had everything I needed. Thanks so much.

After not having visited here for over 15 years it's so lovely to have been able to return and experience such wonderful hospitality. Thank you 😊

Stopped by for a quick cuppa after picking up a family member from nearby Buckden Towers.

Beautifully designed and kept interior, hardworking staff, and while drinks are expensive (e.g. £5 hot choc) they're very well made and worth the price.

They had a nice warm electric fire on by the leather sofas we were on, and some sort of designer scent being piped through the bar area which was quite pleasant.

They also have gold hairdryers in the loo which my wife liked, if you're into that sort of thing.
