You have to visit here if you're in the area. It's like a tourist attraction itself.

Brilliant, friendly service.

After visiting 'The Old Bank Chocolate Shop' 2 minutes away the day beforehand and being treated like rubbish, I was warmly welcomed and served at Friars :)

There were a lovely selection of gift boxes too and I even found a couple which were the same as in the other chocolate shop, but at half the price!

Could not resist a look inside this large sweet emporium on my brief visit to Ambleside. It's in a lovely old building on the main shopping street, not far from the market cross. Loved the vintage decor. Was spoilt for choice with the fantastic array of luxury chocolates on display. Every kind of centre you can think of and they sell vegan chocolates too. There's also fudge, nougat, Kendal mint cake, a wide selection of sweets, shortbread and preserves. Everything was beautifully displayed and clearly labelled. The girl behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. Bought one of their boxes of delicious signature chocolates. This shop is not cheap but if you're looking for a nice gift or an indulgent treat you will certainly find it here.

Its just so good there is now other way to describe, also be careful if you take kids some chocolate had some achohol. I loved and I definitely recommend it.

A lovely place for chocolates. Only downfall is its not as large as their shop in Keswick, but well worth a visit if you're in Ambleside

Great candy/chocolate shop with chocolates and confectionaries of various types. We bought some nice alcohol based chocolates, marmalades and strawberry buttons.

One can even view the whole chocolate making process from the window.

A lovely, quaint sweet emporium. Packed with sweet goodies of all kinds from gourmet jelly beans to chocolate tool kits. The staff are really nice too, which always helps. Plus the shop is in Ambleside, which is a hard place to beat for it's location in the Lake District

Daughter loved the chocolate charachters and was keen to spend her own money in the shop buying some yummy treats.

Honestly some of the best chocolates I've ever eaten. Their pick and mix to the left as you enter is just incredible. If you're in Ambleside you absolutely have to go here.
