Unfortunately, I'm a regular visitor to this place, but the up side is that the staff and care is excellent.
If you have mobility issues, it's problematic, as the car park is on a steep hill. Unless you have a driver who can drop you at the entrance, I suggest that you come by public transport. There is a regular bus service, and I believe the hospital can provide transport. There is usually information on your appointment confirmation.
If you do have a person who can drop you off, they may struggle to find parking, so if you need them with you at the appointment, give yourself plenty of time.

On the 21st of March I attended the hospital to get an operation in an umbilical hernia. The treatment and card I received was of the highest standard. Erin the surgeon was fantastic as was Simon who ensured I slept through the full thing. Finally all the nurses were excellent especially Jennifer in the ward after the operation.the

Out of hours GP service was excellent, after speaking with NHS 24 I was given an appointment for 9:30, arrived early and was checked straight away then had my consultation with Chloe about 5 minutes later, very thorough and doubled the antibiotics already prescribed by my GP earlier that day, to be fair to my GP the red lines going up my arm were not really visible as they became later on that day, they advised on everything I needed to watch out for and what to do if I suffered any of these. Pleased to say I got up this morning expecting to have to go to A&E however its looking better already, I would advise anyone with concerns to speak to 111 and if given an appointment to go, excellent service all round

Went in for a procedure today 31st May, the nurses and consultants were excellent, they made me feel so at ease and explained everything that they were going to do, it made the experience less stressful. Thank you so much

I've had really terrible experiences with Ayrshire and Arran doctors and nurses as of recent, and found myself in A+E again this time at the RAH in renfrewshire after fainting etc. Can't remember her name, Doctor M something? Think she was a junior doctor and she was very kind and treated me with respect and took me seriously, which I find rare in doctors recently. She took my blood and ordered the scans and done all she could for me there and then. I never felt rushed trying to explain anytning to her like I normally do with other doctors. The nurses Lauren and the student nurse that was with her were also really nice and could tell they cared about what was happening. The other staff in the corridor even offered me water and stuff too. This place was like a utopia compared to Crosshouse hospital. Thank you for treating me with respect and listening to me.

Have to give credit to RAH from paramedics to the Resus team. My mum was rushed in tho was a long wait 2.5 hrs to see triage but staff shortages and people coming in to a/e for trivial stuff like toothache -seriously they rushed my mum through to resus area and the attention she received was impeccable from Dr Bullitt, Gemma, Emily and all other staff on nights last night cannot fault them. Tho hospital is a bit rundown and needing some talc from the nhs trust and government not staff fault. So thanks to the Resus team and paramedics For doing a fab job. She now in HDU so will comment once I know more from there.

I was in ward 24 of the RAH in September/October and had emergency bowel surgery. My condition was life threatening and I owe my life to the skills of Mr Henry Whalen,a wonderful surgeon & a real caring man. Nothing was too much trouble for Mr Whalen.
The staff of Ward 24 & the staff in HDU were superb.I was supported & encouraged by all the staff, although I did find a member of the nightshift staff lacked compassion & care. But everyone else on the two wards I have mentioned were fantastic. Also thanks to the Occ Therapists,Physios & Dietician who all aided my recovery.Again these teams were a delight to have working with me.
I have just had my check up & whilst on a recovery road,I am doing well & have been discharged from further check ups.
So thank you to all of the above especially Mr Henry Whalen.

I had a natural birth at Maternity in April. Everyone from the doctors, nurses, midwives to the reception staff are absolutely amazing. The care I received during my pregnancy and delivery was exceptional. There are simply no words to describe how knowledgeable, friendly and professional everyone is. I am very grateful to all of the staff and especially Dr Thompson at Maternity RAH. Thank you to everyone:-)

Excellent service from Dr Bulet (as in the gun haha) and the nursing staff at A&E after my own GP referred me with chest pain. Very thorough assessment and made me feel at ease throughout. Thank you very much.

I was admitted through A and E believing i was having a heart attack, turned out to be phumonia. The staff were very very good from the reception to the young lady who diagnosed me.
I then spent 4 nights in the acute medical unit and 1 night on ward 29 and i watched some very dedicated nurses go above and beyond with patients care. Thanks again, you have some very special staff working their.

I was transferred from VoL hospital on 24/12 with suspected heart attack, chest infection, aortic dissection. Turned out to be mild heart attack and pneumonia, both lungs. I was admitted to coronary care unit where the attention from the medical staff couldn't have been better. I also must add, the doctor who looked after me in A&E went above and beyond, he went with me to the x Ray depth. and stayed in the room while my ct scan was carried out, he then pushed my trolley back to the dept, instead of calling porter, all this to make me, the patient, more comfortable. Thanks for the wonderful care and concern shown to me. I stayed in for 4 days while antibiotics were administered, I am now at home recovering. Thank you so much to all the staff for the wonderful care shown xx

At a time where the NHS is stretched beyond belief, the staff still go about daily duties trying their best in what surely is a dim situation. I attended A&E with a fractured foot and although I had to wait several hours, I was still seen by care professionals who treated me and sorted my foot. Thank you. You all do a great job. Hope the staffing improves for you.
