A really wonderful place to stroll around looking at nice things for 3-4 hours. A fantastic use of an historic and beautiful industrial business with a very uplifting and important heritage, especially for this part of the world. The video showing the story of what it was and how it became what it is now and why it is a UNESCO site was very moving. So much art and photography to see, choc a block with Hockney works...all for free! The Ian Beesley exhibition was a highlight for me. The antique shop too. The Peace Museum is cool too. Also, probably the biggest building I have ever been in and with lots of original features...The sheer scale is incredible. Be prepared to walk lots.

What an amazing place to visit, and so much to see!

Beautiful art and photography displays, a book store, antiques, jewlery, hiking wear, peace museum and more. Even a few caffès/ places for food in there too.

I recommend setting aside a couple of hours if you really want to make the most of your visit here!

There are also elevators to access all floors.

This historic textile mill is at the heart of saltaire. there's plenty of interesting displays from paintings and pottery to book shops and cafes + photography displays of the mill's history. There's even a bicycle shop. Also take a look at David Hockney's a year in Normandie . Well worth a visit.

A wonderful afternoon out! If you like: art supplies, modern home decor, books of any variety, large open spaces with lots of natural light, this is worth the trip! An old textiles mill that has been left largely untouched. 1st floor focuses on art: lots of pictures on the wall with tables full of art supplies, books on many forms of art including photography etc. 2nd floor focuses on modern home decor, Alessi kitchen supplies, a cafe (dairy free catered for with some options - dairy free milkshakes are divine!!), antiques, photography exhibition space. Half of the 2nd floor is a bookshop with the most beautiful, interesting books on so many topics! Fantastic children's section. It was like being in a good sized Waterstones. We didn't so the 3rd floor - saving it for another day! We were there 3.5 hours probably needed another hour and a half to do everything.
There is a free car park, but be careful you don't accidentally park in the private car park as you'll receive a fine!

A day we'll spent, visiting the mill and the art gallery. Nice walk and well organised museums for the peace museum (interactive)

What an absolutely spectacular building this is.
Once used to produce alpaca wool suits, it has been beautiful maintained and is now home to art galleries, shops and a wonderful diner. Spent a couple of hours here and could definitely have spent longer. Absolutely loved it.

Beautiful place to visit. Plenty of free parking and disabled parking near to the entrance. Visited the David Hockney exhibition which was wonderful and well laid out. Plenty of opportunity to purchase souvenirs in the shop. The shop is also well stocked with books and gifts. Lift available to all floors. Restaurant is lovely but disappointed that the coffee shop was closed. Food was delicious and served beautifully. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely loved it here! Been saying I wanted to visit for ages, finally went and I'm glad I did! I was mesmerised by the video that was played, really enjoyed learning the history of Titus Salt and his empire and values... Well worth a visit!

A beautifully preserved Victorian mill building with a huge capacity. The main attraction is the world's largest David Hockney art collection, which is creatively mixed in with Victorian ceramics and artefacts from the mill, and spread over the ground and top floors. There are also exhibitions from other local artists, a room dedicated to the history of the mill, an impressive bookshop, a beautiful home store, a jewellery designer showroom, and an antiques emporium.
Plenty to keep you occupied for a while then! And when you start to flag, there's a choice of two excellent quality cafes, serving hot food and wine, as well as the usual coffee and cakes, and it's table service too. There are also loos on every floor.
Such a well organised space, and a well thought out visitor experience. Loved it!

Wonderful choice of books on art and other matters.
Inspirational place.
The art is amazing...the gallery space outstanding.
Friendly helpful staff (we asked to leave our suitcase as we were staying over and didn't want to drag it round with us).
We return annually for gifts, cards etc. And always will

I wish I lived closer to this place. Went here with relatives from the area and thoroughly enjoyed it. A huge mill converted into a multi use venue with an art gallery, bookshop, food hall and upmarket shop selling designer housewares. The art gallery is fantastic with plenty of different artists but with a big David Hockney theme. Great day out for art lovers.

What a great place - stunning building and fascinating content (the galleries and the shops). The Hockney exhibitions are hugely engaging. The shops are equally engaging - exhibitions in their own right. Loads to explore outside too.

Love visiting this place … art supplies on the ground floor, go up a level for books, resturant, art, shops and the “kitchen/home shop” which is amazing. Great for a mooch and to collect ideas , contemplate the next direction on a project. Kinda works for kids but depends on their interests … remember you can catch a train here and there is the canal … so lots to see

What an incredible place this is!
I love the history behind it all and the philanthropy is evident all around.
Artworks, home furnishings and large restaurant complete the experience. You can also walk along the canal towpath to bingley ( only 3 miles away) to see the amazing five rise locks.
