I don't often give reviews but the Sunday lunch was superb, better than I could have made.
Melt in the mouth lamb and tasty vegetables.

Had a family lunch on Friday before Xmas. Loved the food the service (particularly) as they were 3 staff down but it never felt stressed. Will definitely be back again. Two of us had the goats cheese and salad but not just any goats cheese and salad. One of the nicest versions we've ever had. Hubby had a cottage pie he said it was really tasty.
A really special place. Thanks for making it a lovely family experience.

Great food and feel friendly staff and a variety of choices. I'd recommend the lamb mint burger with red onion marmalade. Great triple cooked chips crunchy yet not dry in the middle. Staff where great and quick to serve and ready to help you with any extras you needed. Great experience.

Great service and excellent food. Sunday lunch menu is fantastic - ham hock terrine, Welsh lamb - and very reasonably priced

Had Sunday lunch here. The Cawdor is one of our favourite places. The food was excellent as was the service. You can have two courses for £26 or three for £32. The portion sizes are very generous. Highly recommended

Great place to stop for lunch, especially on a cold wet afternoon. It'll be busy (always a good sign for a restaurant) but if if you can get a table beside the window to watch world hustle by it's well worth the effort. Tasty choices on the menu, reasonable prices and prompt service. Food was great. Can't say I was that bothered by everything served in little pots and cages on a slate - especially as everything gets tipped out to spill onto the table - but it seems it's trendy!

Really nice place with decent price, we really enjoyed the food and the great atmosphere. The staffs were all very friendly. We went too late and can only get these small bites, would love to go back to try a proper meal!

Friday lunch outing for work. Really enjoyed the food, well prepared and presented and very tasty. Amazing value. As a fussy diner, it's rare I say I'll definitely be back but this is one of those exceptions.

I’ve been meaning to do this review for some time and as friends are staying locally in the near future I found myself googling this place again to copy the link so I could recommend it to them.

We came here in September for a weekend away (although we stayed elsewhere) as we were supposed to be getting married. We had our dog with us so I was keen to email in advance to ask if he would be allowed. This was no problem and we sat in the courtyard with the dog. Now you might be thinking it’s bleeding cold in September, it is, however we were provided with blankets by the restaurant to keep us and the pooch nice and warm. Something we didn’t expect, which we were very grateful for.

The food, well it was amazing. Fantastic burgers great taste and they were huge which was above our expectations. It was also reasonably priced, if anything they probably could charge a little bit more! Staff were really friendly and engaged in conversation, helped having the dog with us as we shared our stories about our own dogs with each other.

Overall it was a great experience, will definitely go there again if we decide to visit the area again. 5 stars and well worth it!

Excellent food and excellent service, probably not the cheapest restaurant in town, but we were extremely well looked after by the staff during a large family meal. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will look forward to returning again soon!

Can only comment on the Sunday dinner, have been 3 times now and it's the best I've ever had. Not expensive either tbh
