A last minute booking but glad we did. The staff were very friendly and professional. The room was very comfortable with a modern bathroom.
We didn't have an evening meal but saw plenty of people who did and the food looked excellent. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Very handy for the lakes or when traveling north, only 10 mins from the motorway.

We came in the area for wedding, we found this place through Airbnb. And we are surprised about the service we received. The personnel were amazing, polite and friendly. I would recommend this hotel. The food and bear were lovely as well!

We love the characters of the room and the clean washroom

A lovely, friendly, warm village pub with great food and beer. We ate here two nights and found the food delicious and excellent value. The young lady who served us deserves special mention for such friendly, cheerful and efficient service, she made it a very relaxed evening.

We called in after a 7hr trip. Last time we went there was around 6 yes ago. We were not disappointed the staff were nice to talk to. The lasagne was one of the best and my husband's fish and chips same. Definitely will not leave it long to return.

I think I found an amazing place here!
Full of character and beautiful rooms.
The staff made us feel very welcome and were great to have an interesting conversation at our 'cheeky pint before bed'
The beds are super soft & very comfortable, we slept very well.
The bath was very modern & had everything we need to freshen up.
Breakfast was perfect, everything hot & plenty to fill. Decent coffee was a mega bonus!

We will definitely be back & can't wait to try the evening meals!

Highly recommend 👌

Had a fantastic meal there last Tues with our friends plus dogs, it was busy and a bit of a wait for food, but it was worth the wait, everyone really enjoyed their meals. Glad to say that this is our local FAB 👍, we will be back soon, thank you

Wet, cold, bedraggled cyclists arrived having battled over Shap. Warm, cheery revitalised bikers emerged ready to tackle the next stage of Lands End to Shetland. Thank you to the wonderful hospitality of our young host. A roaring, well tended fire and good wholesome food did the rest. As all pubs should be, even on a wet Monday lunchtime in March.

We came here as we phoned up to see if the place was dog friendly which it is.
What a gem of a place it turned out to be!

Proper chips, friendly welcoming staff and a really nice classic pub menu. Would definitely visit again when we're next in the Lake District

We only had a drink outside but the food that others were having looked lovely! Service was friendly and plenty of room outside. The pub is set in a delightful little village in the edge of a perfect walk to Lowther Castle.

This is our second visit from Newcastle to meet up with friends at this great country pub .Friendly and attentive staff and had the best lamb Sunday lunch not to mention the gorgeous bounty cheese cake but they also accommodated our friend with gluten free. Best I've eaten in a long time and we will return.
