SPAR Conwy

So handy for the basics while I was on holiday in the town. Had to go to big Tesco's for a wider range but Spar will sort you out for a frozen Pizza, drinks, snacks, some lovely Welsh butter, tasty Welsh cakes, loo roll, washing up liquid - things you need for a self catering holiday! Great location, excellent opening hours and really friendly staff.

The lady at the check out Gillian is absolutely lovely really helpful and welcoming we came in a few times just because of Gillian

Conwy is a very small town with no supermarket so the Spar is the main place to go for groceries and household requisites. It's a small shop which somehow squeezes in fresh produce, larder items, chilled food, frozen food, drinks, sweets and crisps, toiletries and magazines (and probably more that I've forgotten about). It also now houses the town's post office as well as two thirds of all the cash machines in Conwy (one outside and one inside right at the rear of the store). They also stock quite a selection of local produce, including Edwards of Conwy bacon and sausages and Siwgr a Sbeis cakes. The only downside is that in order to squeeze so much stuff into such a small space the aisles are quite narrow so it's not always the easiest place to get around. It always seems that whichever aisle I want to go down is blocked by other people!!!

Lovely staff always polite and helpful despite their very busy holiday season influx . Someone complained about the prices but this is a ‘ convenience ‘ store where any one with a reasonable IQ is aware you sometimes pay more as it is so convenient . Even Tesco and M and S charge more in their small ‘extra’ stores located on high streets than their out of town mega stores . You will find that people who live in Conwy really appreciate their SPAR store and the service they provide .

Very handy shop in the middle of town bargains to be had if you look. Use it 2 or 3 times a week at least. Staff always friendly and courteous with me.

Just went in spar for milk remember I need loo rolls I get to the counter realise I not got my wallet just money for milk the man behind the counter pay for the loo rolls for me Wat a hero

We stopped by here to get a few necessities while we were in Conwy. We stayed in the Bryn Guest House, which is JUST outside of the city wall. Conveniently located in the center of the town.

Prices and selection are both good!
