Cob Records

Had some old LPs that I thought of binning. Called Cob Records and they had a look and I got £25 each for a couple of them! Shop itself is amazing, a real icon. It has a real retro 60's, 70's, 80's vibe but not this synthetic, re-created stuff, genuinely feels that it has always been there, but still feels current. Ask them anything (music related of course) they will tell you. Excellent shop. Brilliant staff. Visit. You'll thank me.

A great record & cd shop, I used to visit them in the 1980s & still have stuff I bought then. I went back last week for the first time in years & was in no way disappointed. If you love music & are in the area check out Cob - support ALL our local independent music shops.

Great selection of vinyl, used and new, with an eclectic and diverse range. I would have stayed for hours had I not been in a rush! Well worth popping in for an hour or six. I managed to haul myself away having spent £60 on some gems in the space of half an hour.

I've been buying tapes/vinyl at Cob Records since the early 90's, so there's sense of nostalgia about the place for me. I visited the area for the first time in a while, recently, and found the shop to be essentially the same (minus the wall of tapes they used to stock in the 90's). The records are reasonably priced and I came away with some gems that I don't normally see when crate digging. The staff are musically knowledgeable and warm people. Long may they continue making people's lives richer through music!

Great shop...my husband pops in whenever we are around the area. Infact he has used it for over 35 years!! Sold all his vinyl some 30 years ago like so many, and obviously regrets it now as he has to buy them again!! Anyway, been in Cob records today, purchased 2 vinyls, The Doors and Beatles album Revolver mastered. Owner put it on for hubbie to listen to the different productions of the 2 Revolver vinyls as he was undecided.. Owner very helpful indeed x great place

Just paid a recent visit after a number of years, I forgot what stock and the range of CDs they had, ended up spending too much but have come away very pleased with the 15 items we bought. This shop is well worth a visit even if you need to make a special trip. Too much choice and temptation was difficult to ignore. Save up and pay a visit you will not be disappointed.

I'm one of the thousands rediscovering their vinyl and kicking myself for chucking out all my original stuff at the start of the CD revolution; hindsight is a wonderful thing... This place has vinyl by the tonne, both albums and singles. It's not a one stop shop to replace everything in one go, but there's more than enough for an hour's mooch down memory lane. I found a couple of titles I wanted and great quality too. Records range from originals (graded for you already) to brand new re-stamps. I defy anyone to leave with nothing bought. Good range of CDs too. I recommend you pop in if you're into your music.

Great record shop that I first visited over 20 years ago and one that I always visit when passing nearby. Nice to see that they still have a huge array of CDs alongside vinyl, when a lot of independent record shops (and labels) have all but ditched the format.

An unprecedented array of records, CDs and DVDs, we need good independent record shops like these. They are vital for collectors and browsers, and this one is a fantastic example of enthusiastic music lovers running a shop with every genre you could wish to find.

What a find! As an often frowned upon CD collector this shop was an absolute joy. My only problem was I didn't have enough time.
Definitely worth checking out.

Great range of vinyl cd and dvd ... wish there was a bit more vinyl but I suspect this place has a high turnover of records and guess stuff doesn't stay on the shelves long!

This is the town I was born and this was my first record shop where I bought my first record, I have moved away many years ago and I have traveled the world and been to many record shops, Cob is not the most modern, but it is still my favourite, every time I go back to Porthmadog it is my first port of call.

A huge amount of stock, well organised, easy to find and well priced. Very helpful owner/staff

Always love to come here when I'm on holiday. Spend hours looking through CDs and vinyl records. Excellent place.
