The Barn at Scorton

A beautiful hidden gem in the quaint village of Scorton.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon following a drive out. Whilst very busy in the restaurant and without a booking we did manage to enjoy a brilliant lunch.

The car park is quite small but has disabled bays well located but also has a lot of deep potholes. However, there is street parking near the church.

The restaurant is a beautifully designed barn with exposed wooden beams and a countryside view towards the rear.

The food selection in the restaurant is impressive as well as the specials board including Sunday roasts dinners.

Take note of your table number, then order and pay at the bar. The food was excellent and well portioned.

We would like to return to try their homemade ice cream and the gift shop is also quite lovely with an array of choice.

Beautiful interior. Staff very professional and clearly like working there. Food amazing. Great choice. Waitress was lovely and split a Bakewell tart with my husband and I and added ice cream. Vv good coffees. Real food heaven place and family and dog friendly. Highly highly recommended

I went for a coffee here with my friends last week. Really enjoyed it , nice atmosphere , fast service and friendly staff. Not often do I write reviews but after reading some of them on here it’s disappointing to see that some staff members are being called out by their hair colours. Our experience here was lovely and the staff were very chatty and helpful. As another hospitality worker, people need to be reminded that we are people too ! And some days it may be hard for people to put a smile on their face all day.

Lovely building, lots of seating inside and out. Lots of parking spaces too. Food was delicious and cakes are absolutely fabulous. Too many to pick from but you can takeaway. Prices are reasonable. Hand wash in bathroom smells delish.

Visited with my daughter for lunch and it was very nice. Ample seating, lovely decor and plenty of staff visible. Food was great. I had a salad and my daughter had the chicken chilli wrap which she rated as yum.

This is an oasis in paradise, the surrounding's and other little shops in the area are lovely but this shop has a fantastic Restaurant with a separate WALLINGS Ice Cream bar , then there is a massive section of pottery, cards, interesting stuff and Good Gifts.
Around the back next to the Large Car Park is a Garden Centre, it was busy with visitors in all it's areas so I assume it's popular

Nice atmosphere, good food and very efficient service.

We visited The Barn for my parents' joint birthday celebrations and were certainly not disappointed. The quality and variety of the food on offer for the afternoon tea was outstanding. Staff were extremely attentive to ensure that everyone had a great time, even adding little touches to make my mum feel special.

My parents had a fantastic time, and my kids were made to feel welcome and included too.

Brilliant. Would go again tomorrow if I could.

A thoroughly delightful place to stop for a late breakfast. If the breakfast is anything to go by I've no doubt lunch or dinner would be just as wonderful. We stopped here for my wife's birthday brunch after a local meeting. We both were very impressed by the ambience and quality of the food on offer. I highly recommend if you're in the area.

everytime i visit here, the food is always to the same standards. the club sandwich is my ultimate go-to and it never disappoints. the coleslaw is gorgeous and everything is well presented with great portion sizes. the prices are good for the quantity and quality of the food. i always leave feeling like i’m going to burst. the ice cream counter has many options (inc vegan/dairy free) and tastes amazing, i recommend the apple pie ice cream. the staff are lovely and very friendly. the gift shop is always fun to walk through and i never leave empty handed. i love this place and of course will return!

Afternoon tea with the wife , we were placed on a table not quite to our liking so asked to move , this was no problem at all , you certainly get value for money , the menu is simple and nit over complicated , the sandwiches and cakes were fresh , unlimited tea and coffee and very tasty cocktails , the staff were very welcoming and attentive , we even took some home because there was so much , wonderful job and thank you

Very friendly and helpful staff the food was excellent and it was very quick service considering the place was full i would highly recommend any one to visit and try the bescotti waffle

Beautiful food, lovely but busy atmosphere, service was great however unless you're ordering online, takes a while to get someones attention.
Had to ask for table water 3 times before it came.

I only wish that we had known about this place before now!

Here for breakfast with my wife and 2 year old and it did not disappoint.

Food was top notch with little wait time. To be fair it was quiet at the time but was starting to fill up by the time we left at 11:30am.

Surprised by the prices as well, I've paid much more for much less in similar establishments recently.

Delighted we have found this little gem, will not be long before the next visit.

Lovely place. We all had the Christmas dinner very very nice. If you don't eat large portions we would suggest sharing. Staff friendly as always. Great to support local places. We will go back next time we are in the area

A small area dedicated to dog owners provided although you do feel you've entered an American diner section. Food is good/traditional and the service is excellent. Highly recommend

Went at about 12:30 today (a v. busy Saturday of the year). Great tasty food, great service and drinks and food were really speedy. I used the QR code and ordered on my phone which was really easy but lots of folk seem to order in the old-fashioned way!
