Such a great shop!! I unfortunately didn't get the name of the guy serving me but he was so patient, knowledgeable and understanding. I spent nearly two hours in there a few weeks ago trying on so many different types of shoes/socks/insoles until we found the right combination and I couldn't be more impressed and thankful for his service!! Not once did I feel like I was taking up too much of his time and he really helped me understand what I needed from my new shoes. Will 100% be back!

I recently went to the shop to get my first pair of running shoes and it was a brilliant experience. I was given lots of options to try and the shop assistant was so thorough in making sure I was happy with my choice. Couldn’t fault my experience. Will be back for more running gear soon!

Would genuinely give 6/5 stars if I could! Scott has been incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and supportive and spent at least 30 minutes trying to find shoes that were just right for me. Honestly, if you're looking for expert advice look no further. I couldn't be happier with my first ever gait analysis and the 2 pairs of shoes I ended up buying! Will be back again, no doubt about it! 😁

Great experience buying running shoes as a new runner. Scott gave me a lot of advice on running and found the best pair of shoes for me after doing a Gait analysis. I spent around a hour there and no time did I feel rushed, will be coming back here again when I need my next pair! Thanks Scott

Brilliant shop -having been going to Apex for my shoes for the past 20 years and they have always made the time and the team notably went above and beyond-in the way that runners always do. I did a half marathon recently and needed to go up a big bigger to stop my toes rubbing. The advice I got was spot-on and the shoes arrived the next day with a lovely note about my target running time. There are so many faceless shops out there but runners retreat and the team there are truly worth the visit.

What a fantastic shop! First proper pair of running shoes that I have ever purchased. The guy who served me was great. Had a good look at my feet and asked questions about any aches and pains etc. Full of knowledge and made recommendations of shoes that didn’t relate to making the highest value sale. Only been running a year and after trying several pairs, I got a pair of Brooks launch 6. Just did 5k in them and they felt amazing. Thank you Apex!

I've been buying shoes from Apex for years and have always been happy with the shoes and the service. But the way you can tell an excellent shop from a good one is how they handle problems. Most recently I wanted a new running watch and I wanted to see one and compare sizes with my current watch before buying. I saw a similar model, the precise model wasn't in stock but was ordered for me. It took ages for the supplier to ship the watch but Apex kept in touch and chased the order for me. Yes, I could have bought online and had the watch the next day but I preferred to see it first and buy from a shop I trust. Apex handled an awkward situation, their supplier letting them down, extremely well.

I got my running trainers from Apex about seven months ago.
One of my trainers ripped on the side and the other one was starting to rip.
I returned them to the shop the owner was very helpful and exchanged my trainers for a new pair. I felt it was very good customer service.

What a wonderful shop! Good service. Helpful staff put up with my critical demands and demanding feet. Were ready to order exactly what I wanted, but I decided to buy New Balance, instead. They even had 2E for my dropped arch. Great selection. Do you run? Do you need better shoes or new shoes? Please use this independent shop :)

Visited the shop for the first time last week. Spent there an hour, shopping for a running shoes. The staff was very patient with me and knowledgeable, recommended me a shoe from maker I never heard of (US brand). Went running 3x in the new shoes and I'm absolutely happy with the shoes.

It is definitely shop to go to for runners, do not waste your time in SportsDirect. They have the choice and the knowledge.

I went into this shop today looking for a pair of running shoes which would kick start my training. My feet ache so often when running so I needed a perfect fit pair and the help I was given was faultless. The assistant analyzed my running gait and picked the most appriate shoes to help lessen the pain in my low arch feet. I tried on about 6 different pairs and ran on the treadmill in each to work out the niggles. I would of had no idea where to start but these guys were so knowledgeable and it was so important to try as many on as possible so I knew the pair I chose were perfect. Excellent customer service and a lot of choice. Great experience.

Have bought a couple of pairs of running shoes from these guys and their service and expertise is second to none. Great conversation, nailed the right choice within a few options and was in and out in about 15 minutes.

Could I buy the same shoes slightly cheaper online? I've no idea but I wouldn't trade it for being able to run with confidence that I have the right shoes, at the right size, for my style of running and goals.

Ordered a running jacket online for my partner for his birthday, fast delivery, amazing customer service. We had a query on the correct sizing of the jacket and they couldn’t have been more helpful. I live in Plymouth and will order from these guys again without doubt.

Excellent service - I went in today having a good idea about which shoes I was after (to replace the ones I had bought here a couple of years ago), but the chap who served me was still happy to take his time & talk about some alternatives (and the reasons why they might work for me) and let me try on a few pairs.
I did end up buying the pair that I thought I might - but it was still good to talk through the options & get a different point of view!

An independent sports store with a focus on running equipment. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who are prepared to spend time with you. I’ve been buying my running trainers here for five or six years now, and always been happy with the recommendations and my final choice.

Went to Apex Sports to buy a new set of running trainers. The gentleman who helped me was polite, attentive and answered all my questions. Didn't feel rushed at all. I also had the opportunity to try several pairs on their treadmill and get feedback on how I ran and what type of shoe may work best for me. The prices were also very reasonable!
I would highly recommend anyone thinking of taking up running to buy your trainers here, you won't be saving much money going elsewhere and may end up risking getting injuries if you buy the wrong ones for you!
