Absolutely outstanding service, walked in today never fly fished before in my life met two of the nicest blokes (one of which worked there Dave) who steered me in the right direction. Dave’s an absolute gent who even took me out to try my new rod and taught me how to cast as I’m literally brand new to it. Just before leaving I met the owner Grant, another smashing bloke. I would advise anyone that’s looking for anything fly fishing to go straight to this shop, ask for Dave. Very knowledgeable shop and absolutely the best fishing shop I’ve been in around the north east and most certainly made to feel very welcome and more. Thanks again lads I will certainly be back in.

What a fantastic shop. So helpful and friendly. We needed waders and got great advice and we are confident that we have the right ones for us. Thank you very much. We don't live near the shop, but that won't stop us using them again, really recommend them.

I had a fantastic experience at Rod & Tackle! Dave, who assisted us, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. As a complete novice to fishing, he guided my sons and me through everything we needed for our marcel fishing trip. The shop is fully stocked with all the necessary equipment. The combination of a great shop and friendly staff like Dave makes it a top recommendation from me. Thoroughly impressed!

Lovely place with friendly stuff. I moved to the North not too long ago, and this was my first time visiting a fishing equipment store here. The staff were really friendly and gave good advice on my setup. They also recommended a place for me to go fishing and I was able to buy a ticket from the store, this was very helpful as it was my first fishing day here in the North. Good variety of flyfishing gear. Overall very satisfied!

I’ve just moved to the area and popped in for some advice on where to try and flies to use at this time of year. I was delighted by the first class service I received. Grant went right through my tackle bag with me, looking at all my flies, lines etc and basically said I had exactly what I needed. He wasn’t even going to sell me anything! No pressure, no sales pitch, just fist class advice. More shops should be like this. I’ll definitely be back.

I bought a few bits and pieces while I was there and met Chris who offered some great advice on fishing Sweethope along with a few flies to try.

The best customer service I have ever had!! Never touching a fly rod before or knowing what it’s all about Dave kindly gave up some of his time and gave me a small coaching session. I’m now hooked into this new style of fishing, they set me up with all the tackle I need to get out on the water and an awesome starter kit (£400 worth of gear for £200 BARGAIN!)
Both Grant and Dave are great knowledgeable guys and can’t recommend them enough they are so polite and friendly, and just real genuine people offering advice and not sales man pitches. I’ll be back soon for the rest of my bits and maybe some more coaching lol 😂

Came in yesterday for help about fishing rods and reels and the full works as I don’t have a clue about fishing but my 2 young boys wanted me to take them fishing. The staff were really helpful telling me where to go and what I would need and started me on a rod bundle for £49.99 which is great as I didn’t want to spend hundreds of pounds. Will definitely be visiting again and I would highly recommend to everyone to go there for advice. I would give 10 stars if possible absolutely brilliant 🙂

Grant is extremely knowledge about the products he sells and fly fishing in general. Takes time to explain the difference in similar products to help you make your own decision

Called in to Rod & Tackle, excellent and knowledgeable service from Grant & Dave and even some great advice from some customers that were also in. Very handy store to call into in the N.East with a good level of stock to purchase all at reasonable prices. Highly recommended a visit here.

As a newbie starting from scratch and looking for a rod and reel, David at Rod and Tackle talked me through my options and even let me try both rods I was looking at. After some time (and a lesson in casting) I made my choice on both rod, reel and line, brilliant all round service/advice and well worth the 60mile round trip.

I have been back since the purchase for more advice and some fly's, the after sales costumer care continues to be top draw.

This shop is packed with up to date quality fishing equipment, yet with the atmosphere and charm of the old style local tackle shop we were accustomed to years ago.
You can look forward to sound and expert advice from seasoned angling experts, well worth a visit.

Popped in to the shop on Wednesday, nice shop very well stocked with all brands, Grant & David were very helpful helping me with my requirements, purchased exactly what I needed and the coffee was excellent too
