Brilliant little convenience shop. Sells a limited range of essentials, lottery, gifts and souvenirs, as well as a cash point and Post Office. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

- don't listen to locals when it comes to recommendations for products.

As one of the only general stores in Mevagissey, the majority of locals rely on Mevagissey news for food and other essentials. Especially since the next nearest general store is several miles away( not within walking distance ). This is a problem as the vast majority of the stuff they sell there are biscuits snacks and other small things. So when it comes to buying food for an actul decent meal their options are serverly lacking. It seems most of their options are based on what holidaymakers want which would be fine if they weren't the only general store locals can access within walking distance.
this can be compounded by the fact that they seem to run out of stock of the most pouler things most days. And every time I go shopping there are always several things I'm after they have run out of.
Overall the only reason I can see why people go to Mevagissy news is that they have no other choice since They can't easily leave the village to go somewhere else. Most locals I speak to about Mevagissey news agree they need to improve this but we all know it's not going to change without any other general stores in Mevagissey to force competition so they know they can keep on costing without trying.

Overall i don't recommend unless you have no choice.
