Cherry Local

Read some one-star reviews for Cherry and felt compelled to post my take on it. I use the shop for Hermes drop-off, and the ever-present guy at the counter is perfectly reasonable. I recall that the label printer was out of paper once (or maybe twice) but I've dropped dozens of other packages without a single issue. The printer is Hermes' property, and it's being looked after by Hermes drivers who are trained to replace (and the supply) the rolls of sticky labels.
IMHO, it's wrong to take out one's frustration in one star reviews on the shop for things out of their control (e.g. the Hermes label printer issues).

Excellent service! Very friendly shop keepers...I love this little shop. Such a great thing to have on the corner here. The staff are always helpful and friendly.

Cherry Local is a local gem. They have a wide variety of products - from food, cleaning, stationery, pet food etc - and services. Particularly helpful for unanticipated items needed on a Sunday when the supermarkets have closed.
The owner has always been open to feedback and requests for particular items - he takes a keen interest in the needs of his customers as evidenced in the improvements instore and the addition of an organic product range.
I have always found the owner and assistant personable and helpful and am always acknowledged and made to feel welcome.
They truly deserve local support!

Shame to see negative reviews because i always have a ppsotive experience in Cherry Local. As a resident of St James village, I love having a little shop right around the corner so we don't have to go up to the broadway for all our needs. They always seem to have everything and the Hermes/Amazon return service is mega helpful. Summit, who is usually manning the shop, is very sweet, funny and helpful. Bit expensive compared to the supermarkets which is always the way for tiny local shops. But excellent for if you need to quickly grab one of the essentials. Happy to support an independent local business 😊

Very good selection of things you may run out of… the man serving is always very pleasant. Since the new management (a few years ago); it is so much improved.

Fantastic that this shop is finally being managed really well. The variety of stock in such a small shop is excellent and the owner tries to get whatever you ask for. The staff are friendly and helpful. So convenient to have this shop rather than trekking all the way up the hill.

This shop is very close to my house and I am so glad it is. I atleast go to this shop once a day to get my bits and bobs and the staff is always there to greet me and help me whenever. I dunno what I would do without this shop!

Very good shop love it

I have always found the service in this shop to be good with friendly people working there. I make the effort to be polite, and don't expect them to be jumping to attention because I want a parcel to be sent or collected. I have witnessed some unbelievably rude people talking to the shop keeper. The arrogance of some people who use the shop is beyond belief. Whenever I go in there and ask for anything, if they don't have it, they will get it. Politeness and manners are a two way street. I would recommend the shop, we all need to support our local shops.

Rude sellers, especially the black-hair Hindu man. I only use the shop to drop some parcels , never ever buy there anything, just because the unpleasant people.

I have tried multiple times to support this local shop but never managed to! Tried to use their Hermes in store returns service months ago, their machine had run out of paper. Went in today for the same reason, the Hermes printee wasn't working properly and the returns label came out blank. The store manager seemed like he couldn't care less and told me to give feedback to Hermes.... Went to grab milk on a Saturday evening at 7 pm, they were closed (sign says open every day, till late).

Horrible customer service! Went to drop off couple of parcels to be send via Hermes. The guy behind the counter wouldn't even bother to write the date and number of parcels on the receipt leave alone say hello or goodbye while texting on his phone. One of the parcels got lost and I am still dealing with this problem. Every time I try to call the shop no one answer the phone. Don't go there or you will regret it I guarantee! Doesn't even worth the one star but there is no option for zero.

shop left unattended and unsupervised for good 5 min, while three customers waiting. When a customer was asking for help using the amazon return machine he drank orange juice from the carton and said he could not help, not his problem....liar you get paid for offering the service so do your job, rude and unhelpful. Shocking. Don't go there

They don't provide services which they state online. Time wasters and rude as well. Go to Nisa at the bottom of the hill they are so much nicer and has more to offer.

He was so rude. Didn't come to the till for ages and then told me the printers isn't working and to go somewhere else.
