Begadang - Gili Air

Begadang is a fantastic hostel. The outdoor hangout space is huge and it has a great pool. The food at the hostel is the best we had on the island.

The staff here are brilliant. The volunteers Anthony and Bella are great. They create a really good vibe around the hostel and go above and beyond to create a fun atmosphere, include everyone and accommodate anything that is needed to make sure everyone is having a good time. Thanks guys!

I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Gili Air.

One of the best hostels I have stayed in whilst travelling, super cosy rooms with en-suites and air con. The staff and volunteers are amazing, on hand to help and make you feel right at home. The restaurant is also excellent if you fancy a western treat. Would definitely stay here again.

Easily the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at over my years of travelling. I don’t usually leave reviews, but don’t look any further if you’re staying in Gili A. Perfectly located near some stunning beaches, and easy enough to hire a bike and cycle the whole island. Immaculate vibes at the hostel itself, every night they go for sunset drinks at a nearby beach bar where everyone can mingle. There’s always something going on, thanks to the wonderful Bella who works so hard to make sure everyone feels welcome. Nice pool area, delish food, comfortable and clean rooms. What more can you ask for? I was absolutely gutted to leave!

Great hostel in Gili Air. The rooms, pool and common area are fantastic and really clean. The staff are really attentive and helpful. The volunteers are great at helping you to connect and make friends. Genuinely one the best hostels we stayed in during our 5 months in Asia. Really close to the beach.

We were meant to stay for 2 nights but we ended up staying 8! By far the most amazing hostel in south east asia, you have to stay here!! Georgia, Bella and Ben are the most amazing reps and made our stay so much better. All the events are great, especially the movie night with the big projector. The family food nights like Taco tuesday are so good and amazing value for money, the pool is amazing, the vibes are great with so many areas to hang out and chill in the sun or shade. You have to stay here! I could stay for a month if I could! Shoutout to Mr Clem!

Best hostel on the gili islands. Absolutely beautiful setting, fun activities in the evenings, amazing and friendly staff and such a lovely vibe. LOVED our stay here and the island is awesome. Definitely would recommend!!

This place is amazing, filled with really good vibes. 150 meters from the beach, excellent food (one of the best on the island), nice swimming pool and the rooms are clean. You have special nights during the week, Tacos Tuesday for example, outside movie theater, Quizz night ;-) Everything is done for you to meet new people, the energy of Begadang is awesome. I strongly recommend this place ^^

Had a great time at Begadang! The hostel is not fully beach front though. They own a bar (PJs) which is 3 min walking distance from the hostel, that is directly located at the beach. Make sure you sign up for the family diner on time as it was already full when I wanted to sign up.
Food is good but, as mentioned by others, a little pricey for what you are used to when traveling Bali. (Full meal between 6-8€, waffles 4€).
They charge 3% for payment by credit card so you might bring cash 😊

We really liked the place. it has spacious wooden cottages, nice pool area, friendly staff. Location is also nice.

We ended up extending our stay here as we enjoyed it so much!

Lots of social areas, clean pool and free coffee. Good atmosphere, and very easy to socialise with others here. This hostel looked much busier than some of the others on the island.

The huts are basic but very comfy, with a mosquito net and fan.

Amazing hostel! The owner and all of the staff are so kind and helpful. The pool is such a nice chill vibe all the time. Beautiful food morning yoga and there was even a movie night. So many people who I spoke to usually ended up extending their nights here because they enjoyed it so much

perfect little place with loads going on!!!! we extended our stay by 2 nights because we loved it! the rooms do get hot but that is the only down side!! free tea and coffee as well as free iced water! we stayed for the pool party and the pub crawl! absolutely gutted to leave! all the staff were amazing! it’s about a 15 min walk from the harbour so be aware you’re in for a bit of a walk but it’s definitely worth it! 100% worth every penny

Begadang is a very nice hostel in Gili air.
The staff is super nice and helpful. The food is great and the coffee is good which was fun for us.

Also the hostel has activities like movie night and more.

At first we were in the wooden bungalow, where we were woken up by chickens and the muazin (call for prayer by the mosque), so 3 nights of bad sleep.

But after we switched to the acoustic soundproof rooms - we slept great.

The only drawback is that these rooms are very very small and even clastrophobic a bit. There wasn't enough room for our suitcases inside and they had to kind of block the entrance.

If you are traveling light - book the soundproof ones for a great experience.

Best social hostel on Gili Air for this price. People are super social, chilling by the pool it’s great, it’s close to good view for sunset and a lot of event during the week. Highly recommend for this price. For working - WiFi was ok :)

Incredible accommodation with plenty of room with an aircon and a clean bathroom. The staff are prompt, polite and generally lovely.
Had a very relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable place to lay around and read a book by the pool. With a bar and a restaurant on location it made my stay highly pleasurable. Met some great people and shared some fantastic times.
Would highly recommend.

We only ate at the restaurant and it was totally worth it.

The food is delicious, we ordered a burger, chicken fingers and meat balls - everything was great. Priced are OK for the quality. (80-140k main course)

Great place, mushroom swimming pool, clean room, AC very cold 😀, staff very welcoming, bar and food great, amazing vibes and very comfortable private bungalows.

Travelling for 4 months and this is one of our favourite places so far! Lots of places to relax close to pool and good food from bar. Lots of cats to cuddle too.
Only negative is the hot water was very temperamental and had to ask twice to be fixed and still was cold
