Varnam Homestay

This place is unbelievable! The grounds are incredible and Varghese and Beena are incredibly kind and hardworking. We had the best time here swimming in the lake and pool, playing badminton, cycling around the local area. They also organised a safari for us and in general nothing was too much trouble.

They can accommodate for vegans and the food was delicious, fresh and there was plenty of it every meal. We would really love to come back.

Such an amazing place, I loved my stay. They were so friendly at welcoming me, so accommodating in everything even when I had to make last minute changes. The homestay has a farm where they grow spices and fruit which they use in the delicious home cooked food (included) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wish I could have stayed much longer. I’d highly recommend.

Varghese and Beena are great hosts. They are really friendly and we learnt a lot about the surrounding area, the wildlife and more.
The food is all cooked using ingredients from their organic farm and is very good.
It was nice to swim in the natural pond.
The surrounding area is beautiful and good to go for walks (especially if you take Mowgli the dog for company!)
Varghese arranged for us to go on a safari to the Nagarhole Park where we saw elephants and tigers.

The host family Mr Varghese, Beena, and their son Dan were the loveliest host I ever came accross in my travel and stays over the past several years. Such a lovely and pleasant mannered people who looked after us like their own family.
Writing this review as I am leaving this home stay. Will miss them and the beautiful creation ( Varnam home stay) they have made.
Pet dogs; Simba, Mowgli and little Oreo were very friendly and full of fun. My daughter enjoyed playing with these pets. Simba was a great companion during our walks.
Varnam home stay is a very beautiful place . It has everything to entertain a big family. It also provides a taste of the rain forest. So serene and scenic; hard to describe in words.
I would recommend this to families and friends who would like to have a great time. We all enjoyed this place and great a wonderful time and everlasting memories made. 👍

This is the best homestay I’ve been to in India. The rooms are clean and comfy. The place is beautiful on an organic farm with a lake that you can swim in and a pool. Lovely dogs! The family are the kindest warmest people ever and make you feel like one of the family. It’s very social as guests and the hosts eat together and the home cooked and home grown food is wonderful. The hosts can organise excursions like safaris and treks. You can also trek by yourself from the farm. Don’t miss this wonderful place while you’re in north Kerala!

My family and I, total of 21 adults and children stayed at Varnam Resort. Overall we really enjoyed it. The food there. The situation there. Green surroundings. Swimming pool. Children's play area.. Kerams board, table tennis as well as all kinds of fruits that we need are there in the tree. We can eat everything. We can pick many kinds of fruits like figs, fashion fruit, jambaka, cocoa, guava, banana, guava, mango, orange, etc. Similarly, we can catch live fish using bait or net. They will curry it and fry it for us. Likewise, the behavior of the people there is commendable. Yes, there is safety. It has a trained dog. Simba and Orio. Wherever we go, pet comes with us. We were happy with everything

Wonderful Homestay in the beautiful Wayanad region. The hosts make you feel very welcomed! They also help you organize many excursions (such as hikes and safaris). Finally, you will eat very delicious meals with fresh and local ingredients (much of which come from their farm). Stay here if coming through the region!

I have no better way to describe our hospitality experience in Varnam Homestay, other than heart-warming.
We spent four days in this wonderful place, and we would have happily stayed there longer. Vargese and Beena grow all the food themselves, from the coffee served in the morning, through the passion fruit and other fruits from which they will prepare fresh juice for you when you arrive, to the vegetables and spices from which they prepare the meals. The charming Varghese took us on a tour of all their plantations and took care of all the activities - from a safari tour in the Nagarhole Reserve to a visit to the Edkal Caves. The lovely Beena prepared wonderful meals, and made sure everyone can find something to eat. In between they made sure to entertain, get to know the guests and create a feeling of home.
The rooms are basic and very clean with a real shower and hot water, the garden is beautiful and the real bonus is the infinity pool overlooking the jungle, perhaps the most beautiful pool I've ever been to (this place looks even better in reality!)
We left yesterday morning and I really hope we get to visit there again in the future. If you come to Wayanad, I highly recommend staying in Varnam Homestay.

What a paradise! They created the whole place themselves. There is a beautiful garden with swimming pool and a huge pond where you can also swim. The food is extraordinary. The owners are very helpfull and the atmosphere is familiar and relaxt. I would give it a 12 if possible

It was a very refreshing and pleasant nature we started from and it went well with tasty food, their tales about homestay, variety of tropical trees and if you are lucky... Getting a chance for tasting all seasonal fruits directly from their farm to plate, fish curry and fry directly from pond... And especially Mr.n Mrs vargheesh hospitality. We enjoyed staying their indulged in nature. A very worthy and a great trip. Thank you...

As you read from the positive comments, it is exactly the same.. a clean calm place to stay.. we stayed there in the month of November and were a team of 23 members and 4 children. I can say without doubt that the stay was excellent. We were vegetarians and we informed this in advance and the food was prepared accordingly for us. All together it was an excellent place to stay for family.

Its the best place to visit, if you want some peace and a connection with nature.

A little (big) piece of Paradise with a wonderfully friendly hosting couple, some of india‘s best Dishes cooked with ingredients from the own organic and biodiverse farm. Beena and Georgios also facilitated tours and everything else we could dream of.

Its a beautiful area, the hosts are super nice and really friendly. The whole family runs this big farm, and most of the food, including fish, is coming local. Really, Great place

Very nice family to stay with! The setting is beautiful and calm, the food is tasty and home-grown. Above all the hosts are adorable, helpful and ready to guide you or let you have some relax time in that little heaven in the mountains. There are many activities to do around so you shouldn't get bored, and visiting the organic farm and its permaculture system is a great discovery! A must go if you're travelling Kerala.

We stayed here for 2 nights in December of 2017 and found it to be a wonderful experience. The hosts were incredibly nice and friendly, the food excellent, and had a great time meeting other guests from around the world. The farm itself is organic and a tropical paradise. We took hikes in the surrounding forests and paddy fields, and it was one of our best experiences in 2 months of travel in India.

First of all, the hospitality was excellent. Mr & Mrs. Vargees treated us like their family members.
Even though it’s a home stay, I can say the facilities and services at “Varnam” are far better than some resorts at same locality. Infinity pool, shuttle court, carroms, table tennis and surrounded farmland highlights it’s beauty.
Very ideal location for family gatherings and functions. Also the organic breakfast and lunch they served gave us a feel of home away from home 😋
