Nice centre. I attended my course from 7-18 Feb the weather was cold during the mornings and evenings but sunny during days. Had a successful course with good food and weather.

I’m very grateful my first Dhamma Vipassana Meditation experience was here at Pushkar. I enjoyed having a smaller group of meditators in the hall and the teacher, assistant teacher, and volunteers doing Seva made such a difference in my experience. I was troubled by a loose end that didn’t get resolved before I entered, and they along with office staff helped me solve it and the outcome was better than I expected. I’ve done Vipassana at other locations where the teacher is more suitable for Vipassana in Tihar prison or as an umpire striking out students. I think the small size definitely makes a difference. The food is excellent, mangoes and bananas are grown there, the birding is amazing, saw many new species of birds, reptiles, and even a mammal walking the grounds, and yellow flowers are blooming everywhere in June and July. The teacher definitely makes a difference, however, this is a great place for meditation, although you can hear road and music sometimes. The meditation cells are much bigger than those at dhamma Thali. I would suggest fixing the fence and putting a barrier in dining hall to discourage boys from coming to girls side as I was surprised couple times walking into couples. Creative dating idea though to tell your parents you’re doing meditation and meeting a partner.

The course is all about answering all types of questions hidden beneath us. You will get your answers only if you follow the rules. Which means ALL RULES! For me? I learned & lost several things. Which should not be shared for the well-being of all who seriously want to do Vipassana meditation.

Pros:
• Heaven on earth with all kinds of facilities for free.
• Teaches you the real definition of meditation.
• The environment is extremely peasant and peaceful. A playground to understand meditation.
• The teacher & servers are doing 100% to help you gain what you came for. I mean objective.
• You will see the power of meditation in your life.

Cons:
• Safety issues! People cannot be trusted blindly. Vipassana Pushkar do!
• Too much risk! The brain is not a toy to play with, meditation is not a joke, & Vipassana Pushkar is not for people who get distracted easily. Why? Because our teaches & servers are learning too. I mean, they are not experts.

Summary: Painful! :)

Dhamma Pushkar, meaning 'Lotus of Dhamma', is situated at Village Rewat (Kadel) near Pushkar in District Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. Residential meditation courses are held here throughout the year. The Centre is surrounded by the age old Aravalli hills on one side while the sacred lake of Pushkar and sprawling sand dunes stretch on the other. This beautiful, pristine twelve acres property is situated about 6 kms from Pushkar, 14 kms from Ajmer and about 130 kms from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan.
