Mangalajodi Bird View Resort

We stayed at Mangalajodi Bird View Resort during Feb 2024. The resort is located close to the boating point, not walkable though. Rooms are specious enough and clean. Room service was prompt. Food quality is decent with not much to complain. Owner of the resort, Manas, is very knowledgeable and humble. He personally ensures guests are comfortable and manage everything for them. We enjoyed our stay here and definitely recommend this to others.

Ideal location, clean room, very good food, and the best part is the host, Mr. Manasji who has immense knowledge of birds. He will guide you and facilitate you for the boat safari’s. Very helpful and genuine person who is extremely knowledgeable.

This is really cozy environment with praiseworthy hospitality. Each room is round shaped named after bird. The food is fresh with traditional touch of Odisha cuisine. The owner takes personal care of individual guest and himself is a great birder. He can be a great resource while exploring Manglajodi.

It was a nice stay at the homestay. Mr. Manasa is great host with interest in wildlife as well. He makes sure to help you in every possible way. Rooms are clean and big enough and can accommodate 2-3 people easily. AC , geyser, team coffee maker, toiletries and all other necessary amenities are provided already so you won't have to go out searching for anything. Food is also very tasty and provided in ample amount. All boating services pickup and drops can be arranged from the homestay itself. People on a budget can take a passenger train from bhubaneswar and get down at Mukteshwar station which is just 1 minutes walking distance from the homestay. No express train stops here so if you are coming via a express train the nearest stop will be kalupara ghat which is 4 KM away. From there pickup can be arranged. Overall great stay there.. hoping to visit again next year.

Our stay in Mangalajodi was from 27-29 December 2023. The rooms have air conditioner. The bathroom has all the necessities. Toilet Western with hand jet. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower cap, towels were provided. The room was neat, clean and comfortable.
Food was good. Bottled drinking water was provided.
Mr. Manas Pradhan was prompt to address our needs. I was satisfied with the service provided.
Trips were arranged by Mr. Pradhan. We were overwhelmed by the number of different birds at Mangalajodi. Mr. Pradhan also arranged a trip to Nalban island. It is a long trip but it was worth the time, money and effort. We saw flamingoes and other birds.
For wildlife lovers, Mangalajodi is mesmerizing. Good place for bird photography.
We enjoyed our stay and would love to visit Nalban and Mangalajodi again.

Fantstic location.... 10 minutesfrom birding area, 90 minutes ftom Bhubaneswar airport.

Peaceful, excellent food, good overall cleanliness.

I visited the place sometime in early week of February after hearing about Mangalanodi wetlands. I really enjoyed my stay at the resort
The owner Manas is a birder himself and had arramged for all the transportation and logostics for my stay there at a very reasonable price. I will surely be visiting the place again.

This is the place to stay if you are looking for Bird watching and wildlife photography. The owner Mr Manasa is an avid wildlife expert and the service is very good.

This is very ideal place of stay for birdwatchers and photographers, located amidst mango garden and close to the boating point. Rooms are reasonably good for stay which are small but uniquely designed. All basic toiletries, tea maker, bottled water etc. are well provided. Food is also tasty and well served. Overall, rooms are good for small families also. However for a keen birdwatcher, stay and food may not be matter of primary importance. The place regularly gets distinguished guests from various other professions also, who have keen interest in birding.

The resort provides two way transfer by auto up to the boating point (2.5 km) and one boating service with experienced guide. The owner Mr. Manasa Pradhan is person of boundless energy and he himself is an enthusiast birder. His company is very enjoyable and value adding. He can arrange day trip to other nearby places of birding and wildlife interest (like flamingo point, Barbara forest). Overall, good value for money and fit for purpose. We stayed for 3 days and fully enjoyed our time.

This is long review...short summary if you are going for bird watching then this is place for you

First of all, by birds view resort it not like from lake view resort you see lake so from this resort you will see the water body birds...now that you expectations are set right

It is locates very near to wateebody.
The rooms are clean and big enough...not sure why few folks mentioned them to ne small, I was worried before visiting.. You can't expect picnic type of resort room... But compared to normal rooms in a hotel they are spacious. The location is serene and peaceful

Main part that I liked is the owner himself has interest in bird watching. He accompanied me in the pursuit. He educated me about few.

He did not force anything on me. If I wanted to eat in resort he was okay with it, if I have food in resort or outside. He was totally fine when I m leaving or coming as he understood I am there for vacation.

I am definitely going to go back to same place next time. I trusted him so much that I changed my itinerary for next 5days based on his suggestion. I am happy that I did ut

I planned my first trip to manglajodi wetlands in Jan end and it was fantastic for a day trip. The bird view resort owner Manas is extremely helpful and have good knowledge of water birds there. Rooms are clean and food provided gives taste of Odisha. I did two boating safari and got many action shots and portraits as well including 5 lifers. Our guide Rusia was amazing. He knows exactly where the action is happening.
Looking forward to visit again next year for more beautiful memories. Thanks for the service provided.

this is my first visit to Mangalajodi and it was an amazing experience. in a nutshell, its a heaven for wildlife photographers. I resided in Mangalajodi bird view resort for 5 days. the behaviour and hospitality of the owner Mr Manasa Pradhan and his staff members is exceptionally good. they are very gentle and caring. the food is very nice and custom made. Mr Manasa apart from managing the resort is a keen birder and nature conservationist. the resort lies in the laps of nature very near to the sanctuary. they have nicely organised pick up and drop facilities. the cost of stay and services provided is very very reasonable. my guide Mr Sugyan is a very enthusiastic young man with good knowledge, experience and interest in birding and photography. In fact, he is a good photographer himself. if you are going to Chilka with the intent of spending quality with nature and bird photography, I would highly recommend you to stay in Mangalajodi bird view resort under the hospitality of Mr Manasa and take sugyan as your guide.

I stayed here for a couple of days. Manasa is an amazing person to hang out with. He takes care of everything, and on time. Food was simple and good. Manasa made sure that I spend a good time in Mangalajodi. Rooms were good too. There is nothing I can complain.

Very clean rooms, great food and very good hospitality. The manager and staff was super friendly and immensely helpful. Boat ride on Chillika wetlands is included. The wetlands are a few km away - the boat ride is a great way to see the migratory birds. If you get time, take a walk on the embankment to get panoramic views of the hills and the wetlands.

Nice atmosphere. Food quality is simply superb. The hospitality of staffs as well as owner Mr Manasa will force you to visit this place again and again.
