Bandipura National park Safari Point

Bandipur National Park is huge and dense but absolutely fantastic. The best part of the safari here is that it is government controlled hence limited number of vehicles are allowed, which is crucial to maintain the jungle.
Being less commercial adds an extra amazing factor to this safari.
Though we did not see the Tiger, we spotted lots of spotted deer, barking deer, sambal deer, elephants, Peacocks, fox, giant wood spiders and of course loads of monkeys. You are able to see many animals without extraordinary efforts.

The main Gates will be opened from 6AM to 9pm only.

For safari can be booked only or can get the ticket from counter, safari starts from morning 6am to 10 am and again they start in evening.

It’s all depends on the timing, luck spot a Tiger but one could able to see 🦬Gaurs, Elephants 🐘, Peacocks 🦚 Deer 🦌 & Birds.

nice trip. Our driver and guide was perfect .. they took different route and waited to spot animals.. we saw lot of elephants, deer and leopard

We love the govt. Run safari here. Well maintained and well trained guides. The jungle is beautiful and spotting animals is just pure luck. If you happen to go during rains, you may be able to see more animals.

I will give 5 stars to this . This is the best safari I ever had ... You will find so many animals on this safari . There is online booking and offline booking as well . It has a bus and zeep safari ... Try to go early in the morning for safari or late evening to witness more animals ..... The forest is really nice ... They will take you for almost 1.5 hours .. and you will enjoy each minute of it .... Must visit place

1. Booking are available in bandipur official website. Book your safari tickets prior 48hrs.
2. Offline tickets are available only for bus safari.
3. Safari ticket price are available in the website.
4. If you wanna experience some thrill book your safari for mornings. Afternoon are not that happening.
5. Well maintained parking lot. Charge are bit high.
6. Plan a stays in bandipur government villas to enjoy the greens with refreshing environment.
7. Some fast food is available here. Also a Nandini parlour present.
8. Even bikes can be parked here.

This was just outstanding experience... Hope we could spotted some Big Cats... Rest all animals we could find... Amazing experience...

This is the new location of government Bandipur Safari Point. You needs to check-in the ticket counter for the Safari bus even if you book online. They will allot you the bus seats. Good facilities available.

Bandhipur national park , new safari point, They offer, camper, gypsy and bus safari; Bus safari has the least time, but economical; bus safari for us costed 610 rs per person; but how good and worth was the money; Was able to spot indian gaur(indian bison) ,Sambar deer, spotted deer, Total elephant, elephant herd, superb safari it was; and would recommend to anyone who needs a jungle experience
To book gypsy, u has to book 2 days prior, or else u cant get the gypsy ride; The price in pics isnt true;; Revised price list u have to enquire there

Everything about this place is as magical as it sounds.
Would be able to see a lot of wildlife on road and while on Safari.
What was very sad is that even that part of national park which was meant for animals is not for animals. People use it like a race track.

If I want to take jeep book in advance good safari

In this place you can buy tickets offline deer, elephant, gavas, peacock 🦚 this animal you can see easily

Was my first time in jungle safari.but we didn't got tiger or leopard 🐆..but we sow many other animals. Nice

While the Safari is worth one time experience and the guide is really good, we saw more animals during the drive through forest to Ooty than on the Jungle safari/bus.

We could spot a rare young Owl at the end of the trip.

We usually visit Bandipur Tiger Reserve from 30 years. The forest has changed a lot and one such change is safari point. The place where we board safari vehicle with amenities like spacious vehicle parking, ticket counter, separate restrooms for ladies and gents, tea and snacks shop, wildlife shop where we can buy caps, shirts and other items.
All forest staffs are polite and obliging
It's a hobby for me and visit every week.

Note: 1. Parking charge is Rs.60 without shade in the scorching sun.
2. If we carry camera lens - Extra lens charges which is costly.
3. It's purely LUCK to see animals and don't blame the FOREST or the DRIVERS if nothing is sighted.

Recent Sightings: 2 Tigers - Mother&Cub,
2 Leopards- one on the tree and another one walking beside the road, herd of elephants, pack of wild dogs, peacock, lot of spotted deer.

Anything can be less in defining wild life safari. Though you feel 2hours of safari is less time. You will.enjoy wide variety of wild life. Guides there has immense knowledge of the wild life. some of my recent collection is here

It is completely based on luck to get to see tiger, but it was very good experience.

Better to book ticket online for jeep safari.

Missed seeing tigers but awesome experience saw a lot of deers exotic birds, elephants... safari timing could be increased and informed guides would be a welcome addition ..

We used the restroom when we visited last time. They have only 2 timings for safari.

1st Safari - 6:00AM
2nd Safari - 2:30PM.

Don't go there after 6:00 AM. Nothing to do there. They have only one or two shops.

We reached there in the morning at 10:00AM and simply wasted our time travelling there.

We tried to reach out to the number on the website but no one responded.. Unfortunately we couldn't experience the safari.

Don't go with private jeep.(charge rs 1000 extra) . They will just take you to jungle but least bother in showing wild animals. Even our guide and driver were getting continuous call from other drivers that tiger is walking in that area come fast. And private jeep driver told us -sir my time is one hour and 40minutes over so we have to go back to base to pick other and earn more money. Tiger was just 500 meters and we were able to see from far and many vehicles were standing there even ready to give pass so that everyone should see but after requesting and arguing too he just reverse the jeep and allowed other vehicle (jeepsy and bus) to pass and go near the tiger. Long story short DONT GO WITH JEEP(2/3 SEATER) ONLY TAKE JEEPSY (7 SEATER) AND BUS.
