This is actually the tomb of Azimunnisa Begum, the daughter of Nawab Murshid-Quli Khan. People believe that she used to eat the hearts of children in order to get cured from a disease. When her husband Suja Khan came to know about it he buried her alive at this place.

Azimunissa Begum (also known as Zinatunissa Begum) was daughter of Murshid Quli Khan and wife of the second Nawab of Bengal, Shuja-ud-Din Muhammad Khan. A mosque was built at the place in 1734 by her, but it was partly washed away by a river and only a small part of it remains. The place has well laid out gardens. There is a local myth in circulation that she was a cruel woman and her husband had buried her alive. However, it is hearsay and not confirmed history.

This ruined Mosque was built by Azimunnisa Begum, daughter of Murshid Kuli Khan and wife of Nawab Suja-ud-daulla. Like her father she was buried under the staircase. The only remaining arch of the Mosque indicates that it was profusely decorated. The large raised plinth and the exterior bay of the east facade of the mosque remain. It was built in 1734 AD. There is an inscriptional slab in the eastern entrance to the mosque.

Great place. But one myth may misguide you, the Kaliza story. This is absolutely rubbish. Azimunnisha or Zeenat-un-nesha was a pious lady. She just wished to reduce her sins by receiving the footprints of Namaazi muslims. His father also followed this way. Visit Katra Masjid for the same. And again this is not the Live Grave. She arranged her Tomb before her death. Please do study for this information.
