Frankly the best place to stay in Velankanni (I’ve tried several other places over the course of many years).

The staff both at the reception as well as the magnificent restaurant the hotel comes with on the ground floor.
Chef Johny from Calcutta has a special knack for seafood considering that’s their prime domain of cuisine - makes one not consider any other types of food but the freshly sourced fish and seafood that’s available (as per season) here.
The restaurant manager also deserves a special note of appreciation as his ability to make one comfortable surpasses those from any other venue here at Vellankanni.

I usually give out 5 Stars with caution and a lot of thought but this time around it was done so without second thought. 10/10.

I was treated with an amazing group of staff, especially Mr Sridhar and his team..

The quality, flavours was authentic we relished the food no matter the part of the day.

Ate lunch at Samudra restaurant at Hotel Maryland Suites. Mr. Sreedhar and his team took good care of us. They were friendly and attentive to our needs. Their recommended dishes turned out to be tasty. Compliments to the chef for preparing a delicious crab fry. The ambience is good. I would definitely recommend this place for meal.

I visited the Mary Land Hotel, and the atmosphere was so nice. The samudra restaurant manager, Mr. Sridhar, greeted us very warmly. I would love to visit this hotel and restaurant every time. Thank you for your kind hospitality.

I stayed for one night, and it was an outstanding experience. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed, offering a very comfortable stay. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, which made our visit even more enjoyable.
I would like to give a special mention to Sujit, who was incredibly helpful and always had a warm smile on his face. His attentive service truly stood out and added a personal touch to our stay.
The hotel’s restaurant is another highlight. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay near church. From the excellent service to the spacious rooms and wonderful dining experience, everything was top-notch. We will definitely be returning!

Rooms were nice and we'll kept. They're very spacious and can easily accommodate a third person in an extra bed. The AC is good and the washroom is in good condition too.

The only issue is with their mattress being a little too firm. It feels hard to sleep on. Literally.

Their in house restaurant is very good and is probably one of the nicer restaurants you can eat in, in Velankanni. We've had food poisoning issues earing at other places before and so this time we had all our meals here only. No stomach discomfort of any kind. All the items were great and tasty. Good portion size too. Chicken Kothu Parotta and Poori are must-try.

Me and my family of 5 went to Samudera Restaurant for Dinner after visiting Velankanni Church.

We had a wonderful experience both in terms of the cuisine and service.

Mr Sridhar and his team made us feel very welcomed and their hospitality was awesome and gracious !

Definitely we will come here again and would recommend anyone visiting Velankanni to visit the Samudera Restaurant.

I am Diogo Rodrigues from Goa, this Hotel is very nice to stay, good approach from the Staff, but once I step out of the room, it's a total mess, the streets are very, very dirty. I am coming to Velankini for the last 30 yrs, And I don't see any cleanliness & hygiene on the the street. Considering this is extremely Holy place I would suggest that all The church/ local authorities & Street shop owners should come together & own the responsibility of cleanliness. This will definitely boost the Tourism and the revenue will be unpredictable.
Most of the tourist who arrive at this place are getting embarrassed and say they will not come here again..
So my humble request is please start a clean up & hygiene campaign from now so that our future generations will have love & affection to this place

The food is very tasty and the staff is always on time. We are actually residing at picnic hotels but heard about this restaurant (also got a discount) and totally loved it. Excellent ambience and very helpful staff.
