The First Place Yoga Resort, Odayam

We have had a lovely 2 day stay at The First Place Yoga Resort. From arrival the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. The location is brilliant, away from the hustle and bustle of the North Cliff but only a short walk. There are some great local restaurants within 10 mins walk including Sandy Bay.
As well as relaxing and yoga we also enjoyed a massage which the hotel kindly helped arrange for us in town. Highly recommend, sure we will be returning!

Been here for two months. Our room had a great view over a valley and in the distance the beach. The room is clean and you sleep well in the beds.
To the beach it is a 3 minute walk. There are a couple of restaurants nearby. You can also go by richshaw 5 minutes to the north cliff , where there are a lot of restaurants.
The staff at First Place are very generous and kind. It is like you have a family. They are very helpful and can fix most things. They made our stay joyful.
As breakfast you can chose between traditional Kerala or more european style. You can also have lunch if the staff have the time to make the lunch. The food is very well made and you feel like it is made with love to both the guest as well the commodities.
There is also a choise to have Yoga in the morning which you can attended without having any pre-knowledge.
I can highly recommend this place.

An amazing place with a friendly atmosphere. The yogaclass in the mornings is splendid and throughout, led by the yogamaster ”Siva”. You can choose between Kerala breakfast and continental in the mornings. The whole place breathe ”family”!
It’s clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly ans warm.
Right bellow you find the beach, witch is ,for sure, the purest beach in India.
I’ll coming back, for sure.

Relaxing and calm place to spend your stay in Varkala around trees and near the beach! If you love Yoga and love to try authentic South Indian breakfast/lunch, this is the place! Staffs are very helpful at anytime, always there to guide us.

Only stayed here one night and it wasn't enough. Food was delicious, the yoga was enjoyable guided by Shiva. I only paid for a non ac room which was bright and had a fan so it was OK. Nice location for a calm and relaxing retreat.

We spent two nights in this hotel.
The owner is very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and lovely. The presence of AC was a good surprise. We did the yoga in the morning, it was a great experience with the sound of the sea and the great teacher (even for a beginner like me).
The restaurant next door with ocean view is perfect for breakfast and dinner.

Calm and quiet place to relax ,free our mind and enjoy your vaccation.80m to the beach, the sound of sea waves and blissful wind from the sea.It was a awesome and beautiful trip.Highly recommending to visit this place once your lifetime

This is an excellent resort situated near the serene silent beach. The place is clean and beautiful. Hospitality is top notch. The owner Par makes sure the guests have everything they need and treat them as friends. The staff is extraordinary, Usha,Mini and Faizal. Great fresh and organic food. Very lovely Yoga teacher Siva. Overall an amazing vacation, highly recommended

Good clean rooms- I stayed in the Ganesh room which had a balcony and great view of the ocean. Limited options for food close by but there is a restaurant on the beach and you can hire a scooter to get to nearby places. Yoga teacher is very friendly.

I stayed in a hostel nearby.
Attended Yoga classes which were great.
I attempt at 1 sightseeing excursion which was also great.
The owner Per is very nice next time I will stay at this resort

This was just a lovely experience all around, the staff were very kind, friendly, and flexible - everyone of them makes you feel cared for, from the lovely women who work in the kitchen, to the receptionist and the owner.

Nice ambience, Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Staffs are very friendly and supportive. Reasonable Price.

Magical garden, super friendly staff, nice food & really good Yoga!
We will come back as often as possible 📿❤

Awesome n beautiful place to stay in Varkala

very near to beach....

Siamo stati due notti. La prima in una piccola stanza che il giorno seguente su ns richiesta non hanno esitato a cambiarci. L' ottima colazione è servita su un terrazzo coperto vista mare. Prima di colazione è possibile fare Yoga con un insegnante eccezionale. Il mare è vicinissimo. Dalla stazione treni abbiamo raggiunto l albergo in tuk tuk

tolles Hotel mit einfachen und sauberen Zimmer zu einem guten Preis. Der Inhaber und Gastgeber Per ist super nett sowie das ganze restliche Team. Köstliches Frühstück nach nach wunderbarem Yoga mit Siva - gerne wieder 😊
