Perfect place for carrying out the ceremony of immersion of ashes of one's parents. Residing nearabout is a group of archakas who do a very satisfying job of this process. Particular mention to Shri. Raghu Sharma who was the Archaka while I immersed my dear father's ashes here.

I would rate this place better than it's competing place Sangama.

For Hindus, it's s spiritual and pious place, where immersion of ashes of the deceased done. Purohith s are available here for performing the rituals. Rooms are available for stay. Kaveri Bhavan and annapurneswari serves food for all.

Its a spiritual place where kaveri river flows towards west (opposite of its course). On either side of river banks, people perform all types of spiritual poojas for now and after life. People even throw ashes into water here. Water stays according to season. Can have a holy dip, Steps are provided for convince and dress changing boxes. You will find people to perform pooja and pooja essentials in there. Parking space is limited. Stays crowded during amavasya, pornami and weekends. Due to crowd, place is not so clean. Near to this place is railway station, can enjoy frequently passing train and their beautiful reflection on water.

Went for a death ritual of a friends father. The process was quite smooth.

Paschimavahini is considered a very important place. Especially during the Mahalaya Paksha that is currently on and the Mahalaya Amavasya, falls on 14, October , 2023.
Several of them come here and perform rituals to the departed soul maybe father, mother, grand father/ mother, sister and others. Number of archakas are around, and they wl perform the rituals...
It is also believed that the ritual, if performed besides flowing water, and that to in Cauvery which is very important to all, wl give a lot of solace in such pristine water, and they pray to the elders who have passed away from the bottom of there hearts to lead them and the families forward and guide them and bless them in abundance.
The rituals take 20 mts to half an hour, depending on the rituals performed. U ve to pay the person who performs the puja. All over the area u can notice the pujas going on simultaneously. You can also offer food to the needy, which is considered one of the best forms of charity..and in a place like this...
Saturday wl be crowded ... so if u ve plans to perform the rituals, you can start early in the morning and complete it.

Good place for performing rites related to the departed souls. But it could still be kept clean by removing the broken earthen wares and clothes left immersed in the naturally clean waters.

Good place for doing pithru pooja. Everything is organised, you can buy the token and one Iyer will be allocated for you. He will perform the pooja and guide you on the specifics. You get token for food as well, their food is also very tasty. Parking is available but given the special occasion days its better to park is on the main road it self.
