Srirangapattana Bridge - (Kaveri Hole)

WELLESLEY BRIDGE - SRIRANGAPATNA :
Historical – Built over Kaveri River – Construction begun in August 1802 and finished in October 1804 – Built under the care of Dewan Poorniah of King Krishnaraj Wodeir Bahaudur - Dedicated to the then Governer General of India Sir Richard Marquess Wellesley – A unique specimen of native architecture – Erected on stone pillars - Paved over by huge stone slabs - Oldest bridge on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway- Survived the recent heaviest flood - Debris deposited by the flood can be seen still sticking to the ceiling - Still strong to hold vehicular traffic – But as safety measure, only cars and motorcycles of local residents are allowed to pass through - Heavy vehicles banned – A Dravidian wonder withstanding the gushing waters of River Cauvery for the past 200 years – Heritage lovers should never miss to see.

Bridge in srirangapatna over the Kaveri river. The bridge was made by the british when they were in control of Mysore after Tippus empire fell.
The bridge is made of igneous rock. It is really beautiful to see, a true engineering marvel.

The bride is constructed in recent days.also there are 2 old bridges,one is beside of new bridge and another is Little far from new bridge called Wellesley sethuve.wellesley bridge is older and beautiful.

The Brindavan Gardens is a beautiful garden located in Mysore. It lies adjoining the Krishnarajasagara Dam which is built across the river Kaveri. It is maintained by the Department of Horticulture, Karnataka. The main gate is designed on the model of the India Gate, New Delhi.
