Hotel Chail Residency

Visited Chail towards the end of August 2024, for a night, during my Himachal bike trip. Just did a walk-in booking, and I have absolutely no complaints.

- The views from the hotel, and the room I booked, were spectacular.
- Room was spacious, well appointed and very clean.
- Staff was very friendly and courteous.
- In the afternoon I ordered some standard fare, which was fine. At night, seeing they had a extensive pizza menu, I decided to try that.
They have a rooftop restaurant, with an open preparation area and an earthen stove, so you can see your pizza being prepared.

Due to it being off-season (monsoons) with lower occupancy, I was the only person at the time who wanted a pizza, the cook had to fire up the oven, which took time.

While this was happening, I got to watch him knead and roll the base. Then get the vegetables, to chop and prepare them. Then finally put the full preparation into the now ready oven, making the freshest pizza I have ever had.

The cook and staff were apologetic for the time it took (because of needing to heat up the oven), but it was totally worth it for quality of the end result and I was touched that they had gone out of their way to do this for just one customer, when they could have just said that it wasn't available.

All in all, I loved my stay here. If time had permitted I would have definitely stayed here for longer. Chail is a very soothing place, and the hotel stay was great.

View from hotel is awesome and the place is very peaceful and serene. Hotel rooms are exactly as shown in website and cleanliness is very satisfactory. Staff's behavior is very homely.
Only scope of improvement is - food delivery time, variety and quality of food.

Everything is good but the pizza shop isn't good

They have renovated there property now. Great view. Even breakfast has many options. Service was really good. Rooms are spacious.

Visited chail and this hotel in mid-September and wish to appreciate the entire experience we had. Arguably one of the best budget hotels in Chail as we have been a frequent visitor to Chail before and have stayed at other hotels as well..

Even though we just stayed here for 2 days, their service, food and hospitality was tremendous. After reading some mixed reviews written recently we still went ahead and chose this hotel and I must say that the hotel has kept their faith and is a great option for all those planning to visit Chail. I'm an avid food fan and ordered every possible dish in the menu and must say that the food is excellent (Very fresh and well prepared) and the service people are awesome and always had a cheer on their faces and respect for all the guests while serving them. Hospitality was very good.

We stayed in their super deluxe accommodation (Room no 201) which has decent balcony and the view is good but not the best. But one can still spend much part of the morning or the evenings just sitting and lazying around in those balconies while having tea or coffee.

We did not find any single issue to comment negatively about any aspect of the hotel. It is a budget hotel and has maintained its standard very well. The staff is humble and their hospitality is wonderful.

Would love to visit again sometime in the winters now to catch some snow which we heard comes in around January each year.

Very clean and value for money hotel. Ample parking space inside the property. We got a standard room and it was spacious and had a private balcony. Overall great experience and highly recommended.

We (me and my family) could rate this hotel as one the best budget hotels in Chail. We booked it for 3 nights after reading positive reviews and having a word with the owners of the property and it turned out to be a great weekend getaway.. It ended up being quite a pleasurable stay and I never regretted my decision. Some of the pros and cons from my experience are listed below:

Pros:
1. Neat and Clean rooms with everything you might need available to you.
2. Quick and quality rooms service available whenever you need it.
3. The restaurant always had good delicious food for us. You could order whatever you wished to and it all had a discrete different mouth watering experience. We had all of our breakfasts and dinners in the hotel itself.
4. Nice view of the valley from your balcony. You could enjoy the wonderful scenery during sunrise and sunset by just sitting and sipping your tea/coffee in the balcony.
5. Great location of the hotel, quiet and peaceful. We usually went out for random strolls in the evening and used to come back after 2 hours just exploring the place and the serenity of the city.

Cons:
1. Looks unimpressive from the outside, more of a house and not a flashy hotel so can't have pictures to take back home, but it's a budget hotel afterall.
2. No internet connection if you happen to need it. But no other hotel has that option as it is in Chail. So suggest fellow travelers to carry their own arrangements.

But overall, nice hotel, nice stay. It exceeded expectations for us, so 5 stars for this hotel.

Within the price bracket it's the best hotel at chail. Amazing view from balcony, decent food , good room, very helpful and cooperative staff. I had visited in march and it was cold, they gave room heater for no extra charge. They had also arranged good meals right to specifications. Location is near bird sanctuary and very serene. Must stay place.

It is an extremely lovely, clean, and comfortable hotel which is, surprisingly, very reasonably priced. I was amazed to see how pleasant this place was, especially in light of the price, and it exceeded my expectations in almost all aspects. The lively staff rightly complemented the remarkable cleanliness.

Although the hotel is small, yet the super-deluxe rooms, where I stayed, are BIG (totally worth the few extra rupees, trust me) and facing the valley which make for a great view. I can’t comment on the restaurant as I was accompanied by a lazy lot and ordered all our meals in the room. Once again, the hospitable room service led to a congenial ambience. A little anecdote - the owner happened to be present at the hotel and gave me his hard disk drive. We went on watching movies and shows in our rooms for hours at a stretch. Also, do order the coffee, it tastes heavenly.

The hotel can also arrange for the local transportation from the market if you ask. Personally, I felt that the taxi driver (that the operators had sent from the market) was charging unreasonably so I asked the hotel staff to intervene. The manager there used some of his tricks to bring down the price significantly. Thank you sir!

They also arranged a driver and an English guide to see the interesting sights in/around Chail, which, I was lucky to discover, is a rare and beautiful city.

NOTE: Chail is more of a walking destination. The scenic beauty, which is not at all polluted, is a rare thing to find in India and should enjoyed on foot. That being said, take my word for it, do visit the city, stay at this hotel, and be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

The hotel is few mins ahead of chail market. The view is awesome from the rooms. There was some water problem in the morning, but they managed it with water buckets. Food is was tasty with reasonable price. Parking space was available. Furnitures were old. Value for money hotel.

We stayed there for 2 nights ... it was such a pleasant stay .. The staff was too good n polite. Very helpful ,,, The rooms were so nice .. Their service was too good .

Amazing rooms, better in-person. Staff is just amazing and really friendly. Food is also very tasty and the best part is the view. Would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting chail.

We stayed at the newly opened wing of hotel chail residency, the rooms are definitely top notch with a comfortable bed and premium finish washroom. Contact them directly for great deals. Valley view rooms are recommended. Food is out of the world, be it indian or chinese.

Excellent room ambience with all facilities. We stayed in three super deluxe rooms. Scenic view especially sunset. Well kept rooms and washrooms. Food was also very good; sumptuous breakfast. Staff very courteous. Prompt service.
Value for money.
Staff for room service need to take COVID precautions including wearing masks and gloves while handling food.

We had taken family room good room spacious ,food ok not to the mark, location excellent,staff very polite and helpful

Overall experience was good.
