The route leading up to Anamudi, which is actually the NH connecting Munnar to Madurai, is in itself mind blowing to say the very least. And traveling through this road multiple times, I have found it to be rather serene and relaxing with next to no traffic. Anamudi, the highest peak in Western Ghats offers an enthralling view alongside tea gardens and for any traveler, nature strikes you here with all its beauty.

Anamudi, the highest peak (2,695 m) of Western Ghats and South India lies south of the Himalayas and towers over the sanctuary. The slope of the hills is home to the Atlas moth, Nilgiri Langur, the lion-tailed macaque, leopards, and tigers.

About 5 days spend trekking through the jungle, forest, tea fields and grasslands, full of land leeches, the journey as well as the views were much worth it. It was gorgeous the whole way with the views of the environment constantly changing until we made it to the summit of the hike. Would for sure hire a local guide as they know how to get to and from the campsites that ate gated because of the tigers, elephants, and other creatures that may be destructive to us humans.

Highest peak in South India, most people speak in Tamil language, you can see gigantic view of mountain but there is no road to reach top, but in Ooty there's road to reach top thottabetta which is also similar height. Kerala Govt should plan for that.
