It was beautiful We could feel a peaceful atmosphere there, away from traffic and pollution. If it is the season then the butterfly garden is a must visit. You should carry an umbrella or caps because it can be quite hot.

Indeed a beautiful and amazing place to visit.
We were not lucky enough because we got there by 5:30 pm. And everything was closed.
We only got chance to see musical water fountain and history video presentation 🙃
They both were good.
The history of Thenmala was an interesting story.
There are so many things to see there.

The place is very calm and peaceful.

Best place to spend your weekend with your friends and family. Here we can find so many activities like trekking, cycling, rope line, butterfly park, and so many interesting activities. Also there are 4 packages with 4 different paths and activities. Price varies for every package. Also you can go to the boating which you can see a part of western ghats. The boating was wonderful and the view is also awsome.

Thenmala is a great place to trek and wander around and if you are a nature lover, the woods around the place are an excellent opportunity to observe a variety of birds and butterflies. The official attractions that is there are the dam, deer park ,amusement area etc,

Thenmala eco tourism is a must visiting spot for every one. The beautiful view of water flowing from dam is a nice view experience.

Cons: No decent eateries open may be because of pandemic, though there are a few smaller ones. Upcoming attraction: Late Jan / early Feb might see the majestic red silk cottons in bloom and it is indeed a spectacular scene.

Wish the rooms were a bit cheaper.
4800/- per night for AC deluxe felt a bit high.
Apart from that, all good.

Adventure park, leisure park, boatting etc

The place is vast and there is a lot of walking to do.Beautiful during specific seasons as the heat can be too much at times.
Visiting schenduruni ecotourism is a main thing
it offers jungle safaris,trekking,night safari,camping,stay in jungle,boating etcc
(trekking starts at 9 am and you have to be there by that)
Thenmala ecotourism has some fun activites ,leisure zone,and night activities as well
Everything is open till 5 pm only(except night programs).
Hotels with beautiful views are available and overall good for spending time with family or friends

The guide who accompanied with us was a nice person and he knows a vast knowledge on butterflies.

There was free parking available in butterfly garden.

Very nice place for weekend family trip. It's on the way to kuttalam water falls. Kids would love this place. Don't forget to visit deer park and adventure park. You will be surprised to see such a beautiful weekend spot in Kollam district. Under developed rural area, so don't expect posh hotels. Better to pre-book hotel with KDTC. There are some homestays available in the area. KDTC package per night with room starts from Rs.1500 for a family stay in River side hut. Deer park, adventure park, aquarium, thenmala dam entry fees extra but at very cheap rate. scenic view, close to nature with good sound of breeze and running water from the river. Take a bath in the River.

Has a butterfly garden that is absolutely gorgeous and the tour package is absolutely worth it.
Do recommend visiting this place with friends and family.
Make sure u visit here by morning as the noon heat is unbearable.
Good time spend

We went during pandemic in 2021. Me and my husband were only there to enjoy the beauty. We felt dam waters as Niagara falls. So many monkeys eating Sirisha (Sanskrit) flowers, original Asoka trees with many flowers, botanical gardens and many more things we enjoyed.

One of the best spot to spent time with family and friends. Enough opportunities to leisure, adventure and other activities. The boating in Kerala's longest reservoir is the best boating I ever had. It's actually an underutilized beauty.

Great place. Pretty affordable for the services provided. Adventure activities, tented camps/rooms, bus service for taking to places, meals, kids play par everything is nice. Must visit.

Have a wonder full experience. It's really a beauty full place. It's very neat everywhere. Good facility for tourists. Also in cheap rate. Government provides excellent facility here. Scenic beauty was marvelous. No doubt it's a place where you lose ur heart

Themala is one of best tourist place for oneday trip those who are nearer district, and this is a great place to unwind and who loves nature, forest and the woods, these all are around the that place. There is also few opportunity to see variety of birds and butterflies, there is the dam, deer park, boating also childrens park. Everything is Very intresting. But there is no a good restaurant near themala..
