Best Western Hotel Regina Elena

The warmest, kindest hotel staff. Fantastic food, rooms and views. It has been a year since our trip and I am still bowled over by how incredible the hotel staff has been. My husband fell seriously ill during our trip and the hotel staff immediately acted upon it, calling the best doctor they could find. While he was recuperating in the hospital, we had to extend our stay- in peak season in Santa Margherita! The hotel was fully booked out. We only planned it as a stopover for 2 days but ended up having to stay 14 days and the hotel was fully booked out. The reception staff were amazing trying to coordinate and rearrange the other guests' accommodations each time just so my young daughter and I don't have to shift hotels or rooms every few days. And the domestic regular guests actually agreed to delay their trip or be relocated to another hotel, we were truly grateful for their kindness. The chef baked a birthday cake for my daughter and the staff regularly checked in on us to ask about my husband's condition and see how we were coping. As hotel staff work in shifts, I'm surprised that everyone was updated and I did not have to repeat the entire story whenever I came by the reception to seek another extension. In the midst of a medical crisis and a super trying time with a young child all alone in a foreign country, Hotel Regina Elena's staff made us feel safe. Truly exceptional people. Awesome location with a private beach and rooftop pool. The staff were kind, the rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

If I could give this hotel 6 stars, I would.

My partner and I had requested sea view which we didn't think we could get given that the hotel was completely booked this time of year. However, the lovely staff accommodated our request which we appreciated a lot. The room was lovely, the bathroom was large and everything was spotless clean. The beach is right across the street and we were given free beach towels to use. Finally, the jacuzzi and pool on the rooftop had amazing views of Santa Margherita. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner as we wanted to explore local food across the region, but the breakfast was good and everyone was very helpful and polite. Last but not least: the location is brilliant as Regina Elena is right in front of the bus stop AND a short walk to Portofino (we did it in 40' ish and it was very scenic). We will be back next year! Until then, arrivederci e grazie mille per tutto!

P. S. Shout out to Alice for her smile and kindness, as well as to the lovely staff who found and returned my sunglasses and mobile phone both times I lost them around the hotel.

I had an extremely wonderful time here, an October years ago, no tourists, warm water, bonfire on the beach, made instant friends, food was the best, lots of dogs and cats to pet, watched a lightning storm come over, read books, swam, ate some more. A lovely way to escape the US.

Gréât views from the balcony, pool on the terrace offers great views but has to be booked in advance.

Apt location to reach local amenities.
Beach is accessible on booking.
Parking is unmanned, autocratic and amazing.
Bus to Portofino stops infront of the hotel every 15 minutes but is always full in high season so better taking the ferry.

I recently stayed at the Regina Elena for the second time after a long absence from Santa Margherita and loved every minute of it. The staff is exceptional, the food and service at the restaurant were outstanding and the one-stop shop nature of the hotel makes it an awesome place to stay. There's a beach, a bar, a restaurant, a view of the Mediterranean from balcony rooms, a lounge and a pool. There's something to satisfy every need. You could stay for a week and never leave. Everything you need is right there, provided by an efficient and attentive staff. I will always return to the Regina Elena when I visit Santa Margherita

My wife, 9-year old son and I stayed 3 nights here as a break from Rome and Venice and before going inland to Tuscany (visiting from the US). It is a historic hotel, so it is not shiny and new, but it is nicely updated and very comfortable; we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff is extraordinarily hard working, helpful and accommodating. The staff at the beach club was the hardest working I've seen; manicuring and cleaning every morning and then attending to every need throughout the day (beach bar and beach restaurant, by the way). It was perfect for us, ocean access (with an inflatable for kids to play on), rooftop pool, air conditioning and a proper breakfast; all within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. It is right next to a busy street, as others commented, but there are storm shutters on all of the windows, so we didn't hear any noise when sleeping (and the hotel's old walls are quite thick and soundproof).

I made a mistake with our booking but the hotel staff sorted the problem quickly and managed to find us a room. Admittedly more expensive but we were just grateful to have a room. Love this place so much nicer than Portofino.

Overall very good. Very nice stuff, private and closed parking lot with CCTV and 2x Type 2 chargers.
The view is beautiful in the morning to the sea. Inside restaurant and Bar (chill out lounge) quiet old building and a middle aged feeling but not loud. Good isolated. We loved the lights everywhere like in the ground. Looks very cool.

I love the hotel with a nice restaurant in a nice location and has an awesome beach with clean water. The water there is very salty so you float standing up. The hotel has pretty rooms that are comfortable and give a nice aesthetic. They also have a rooftop pool and hot tub and beach beds to lay on.

Nice room. Beautiful seaview from the balcony. Excellent location in Santa Margherita Ligure. Service was good. Parking is €20 per day. Buffet breakfast was fine. Maybe the best hotel in Santa Margherita.

We have been coming for 20 years, extremely clean rooms and linens, have a fantastic room facing the mare, they have a first class beach set up, wonderful breakfast…an amazing wonderful staff

Most friendliest staff ever! Happy, chatty and helpful. Hotel has a great location right at the beach. Its a short and picturesque walk to Portofino.

The hotel was lovely. The restaurant food was excellent. Trofie with Basil Pesto, so good. I will never forget my stay there .

Rooms are small (as expected) but clean & modern. Staff are friendly & helpful and food is good. But what you really come here for is the view, which is just spectacular. Highly recommend.
